Travel Through 300 Years of Iowa?s Agricultural Heritage
Discover American?s agricultural heritage as you walk through three working farms - each with authentic crops and livestock. Learn how Native Americans began growing crops in Iowa at the 1700 Farm. See how early farmers opened the prairie with oxen at the 1850 Farm. Find out how the horse-power and cast-iron machines revolutionized agriculture at the 1900 Farm. In the 1875 town of Walnut Hill, join in the excitement of a bustling Iowa frontier town with 14 homes, shops and businesses.
Hours
Living History Farms is open May 1 through the third Sunday in October, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily.
The last tractor-cart to the farm sites leaves at 3:00 p.m. each day. Ticket sales and admission to the Farms ends at 4:00 p.m. each day.
Admission
Adult, $10; Child, (4-12), $6; Senior Citizen (60+), $9. Two Day Admissions are: Adult, $15; Child, (4-12), $7.50; Senior Citizen (60+), $13.50. (Two Day Passes must be used on consecutive days)
The point is that they open for tours May 1st so if that is what we are planning, we'll have to wait till then...
