Hi guys,
I finished my boat project I have been working on for a couple years now and took it for a ride the other day the boat turned out awsome, but the AV scared the crap out of me, it was pushed all over the road by the boat and I got abotu 9mpg while towing.  The boat is a 26' fiberglass and weighs app. 5500 lbs so the weight is not to bad but the AV just didnt to well at all.  I might have to go to a deisel truck to do it, I will be towing alot.  I will get ahold of Lance and see what kind of a deal we can work on a new 2500HD I guess.

Can I still come to some gtg's if I hide the truck?

Of course you can still come to GTGs

Could you post pics of the boat?

I purchased the boat 5 years ago as a total rebuild project it is a 1979 Wellcraft Airslot 24'6" fisherman model.? This hull is rated as one of the top10 best offshore boats ever designed, but they stop making htem in 1981.? It was an inboard 350 Chevy and I converted it to an outboard 250HP Yamaha and lengthened the boat by almost 3'.? It is now and offshore fishing machine, I not only converted to Outboard, but I removed and redid the enitre fuel system, the entire electrical system and layed out the deck completely different then it was originally built.? I have 100's of hours and 1000's of dollars in this boat, but to me it is the ultimate offshore sport boat, heres a picture from tuesday on my trial run.

P.S. thats a 5500lb boat running 45 mph and using 21gph of fuel.

Nah, just drop a Duramax in there...

...not a problem!  :p

Seriously, I test drove a '96 Suburban 6.5 the other day. Man, did it drive nice. Not bad for an 11-year-old truck with 160K miles. I almost bought it ($6300) but my wife convinced me to keep the AV and add a nav/dvd system....

What lake is that where you tested at ?

My bro lives by Junction City, lots of pretty lakes and rivers up there...

But hey now you guys got a guy with a great offshore fishing boat that loves to take people out and get some big fish.
