Miles/Gallon V. Miles/Hour (1500, 5.3L, 4.10)

?I have been keeping complete fuel records including miles, gallons and engine hours. ?At 11,800 miles I have enough data to put a best fit line through the miles/gallon vs miles/hour data, attached figure. It shows that the AV, at least mine, gets the best performance around 60 to 65 miles/hour. ?I was wondering if others were getting similar results. ?Does anyone have a similar curve for the 3.73 differential? ?(FYI, I used a third order polynomial)

I haven't gotten anything better than 15 mpg in my Av although I only have about 9,000 miles on mine in 1.5yrs. I guess you could say I'm still in the "break in" period. And I don't think that the average speed hovers around 70-80mph. How much psi are in your tires? Any Mods? Be interesting to compare so others out there.

I have 3.73:1 gearing and have had similar results to yours. Best fuel mileage of 19-19.4 mpg was obtained at approximately 60 mph. Speeds between 70-80 mph have yielded 17.5-18.25 mpg.

?(FYI, I used a third order polynomial)

I used a #2 pencil.

Lets see... no mods. I do use synthetic oil (Amsoil). Tire pressure is kept at the GM specified pressure. Stock tires for the Z71.

I have the following mods which could affect mpg;

Mobil 1 Synth
Volant air box
HPP3 Programmer
BFG AT/TA ko - stock size, tire pressure 36psi f/r
Forged billet wheels

I have seen no appreciable change in mileage after any of the mods.
