Hola Ava group,

the power mirrors aren't changing according to the memory positions on my AVA.

Here's what I got:
- 2003 2500 2WD
- trailer equipment
- full featuer leather bucket seats with leather, bose,
adjustable pedals, 2-driver memory & seat warmers
- personal security package

the 2-driver memory I have the understanding should control the driver seat, the pedals, the radio presets AND the power mirror positions. it does all EXCEPT the power mirrors.

I think I'm missing something one way or another.

thanks in advance,
pd

I don't have a 2003, but I seem to recall that the DIC had a lot of driver preference settings. I think there may be something that has to be set using the DIC to tell it that you also want the mirrors adjusted with the driver 1/2 selection.

I would suggest carefully reading the mirror and DIC sections of the owners manual to see if there is something that needs to be set.

Not much help, I know, but it's the best I have to offer at the moment.

thanks for the suggestions.

I may just have to go to a dealership; the manual is leading me to believe i should have mirror memory. But as I scroll through the DIC, the CURB VIEW ASSIST does NOT appear as one of the options. So I'm not getting an opportunity to set the mirror preferences even!

ok, I just went out and checked mine.. and well, they move... when I push button 1, it stayed at my settings with my key.. if I push button 2, the seat moves, radio changes, temperature control, and MIRRORS ?;D

BTW - I have all factory options, Z71, 4.10, 5.3L.

tyguy93-
I would suggest this. ?Get in and put key number 1, turn on the ignition in (you can start it if you want) and set everything including the mirrors. ?Then push and hold the 1 button for a few seconds till it beeps. ?Then leave that key in... and set everything, including mirrors to the settings for driver 2. ?Press and hold the 2 button for a few seconds till it beeps. ?Now when tapping the button one or two, everything should change. ?If not.. something it wrong. ?

Setting the curb tilt is done with the controls on the steering wheel. ?You can set it to work everytime you put it in reverse, or leave that off and just use the button on the door... ?;D

I have an '03 AV. 11K miles. Had problems with mirrors going back to memorized position after vehicle was turned off for an hour. Dealer says there are MANY different types of mirror problems out there. ALL are related to the software in the computer that controls the mirrors. They flashed the memory (gave it a new program) and now things are OK. Time will tell how long this lasts. I have similar problem with '02 Escalade and it has been flashed twice, but problems keep returning.

tyguy,

Perhaps the mirror settings for Driver 1 & 2 are currently in the same place is the reason that they don't move? Follow the directions that Ahhyeah posted to find out for sure.

The fact that you can't find Curbview Assist in the DIC though worries me. Your solution might be more along the lines of the reflash that Lanche_man talked about. Hope you get it fixed.

What you're likely overlooking is that you are making the settings for the mirrors once in the truck, and neglecting to store those settings by pressing/holding the button on the door panel to match your remote/driver id.

Without doing that, next time you hop in, they are back to whatever was stored in that profile since you haven't saved anything new. Same goes for seats, etc. If you skip that button, you don't save anything! ;)

Kinda a dumb question, but since I's a newbie, ya gotta let one slide...  :)

My wife and I have the memory seats/mirrors/etc, and they work fine, but we have to press the button each time we get into the car - My wife presses the #1 button, and her settings go to where she has saved them, and I press #2 and my settings go to where I have mine set...

We also have the key FOB's (what does FOB stand for anyway???), my wife with #1 and me with #2.

Should the seat/mirror positions automatically go into effect when either my wife or I unlock the doors with our assigned key FOB?

As stated above there are 3 different buttons for setting memory. 1 and 2 for seats, pedals, etc... The rectangle button above the 1 and 2 buttons is for setting the memory of the mirrors. Mine is an 04, but I believe it's the same for the 03.

I'm having a bit of a memory issue as well. Welcome to GM memory seats... When I get in memory 1 moves everything, but for some reason my left mirror is off a little. I've reset it a couple times, but it keeps going back. Just need to find the time to drop it off at the dealer...

It doesn't stand for anything. It's a real word:

fob1 (fŏb) pronunciation
n.

  1. A small pocket at the front waistline of a man's trousers or in the front of a vest, used especially to hold a watch.
  2.
        1. A short chain or ribbon attached to a pocket watch and worn hanging in front of the vest or waist.
        2. An ornament or seal attached to such a chain or ribbon.

[Probably akin to Low German Fobke, small pocket.]
