I have been thinking......be careful there now brain.....

An I think we need a definitive list of possible mods that have been done to the AVY.....

Kinda like a index and maybe we could then get Goo Goo Linky thingy maker to add links to threads with info....

When done this thread could be condensed and turned into a page for the site called posible mods to date....kinda like waffle house and how they say you canhave their burger done over 2 million different ways....

OK I need to give the brain a rest now....

So Goo when ya making this list? ?This is/was your section to mod.... >:D

i think that would be an excellent idea. it would be a great way for someone to decide how they want to custom their av to thier liking, seeing that not all mods are for everyone. then it could be linked to their respective posts for how-tos and details.

actually now that i think about it, im sure thats what the cafcna magazine is for (right chief?). but i do like the idea of a list, or archive that has all possible mods on one page. kinda like ls1.com's section (ls1.com mod list) ;D ;D ;D

That would save alot of time and starting new forums on topics already covered by longtime members. Maybe even have a forum section combining multiple topics into one. Did that make sense. I kow you can search but an overall topic index might be cool....tons of work but cool.

We tried this in another topic already without any success.

We need MORE than just responses from everyone saying checkout my signature for my pics and mods.

I would like to see Manufacturer, Product Description (specs) and an installed photo (where you can actually see the product).

I did like this idea before but don't have the time right now to gather/organize the information.

got change cant sleep tonight---thinking of more mods I think the topic could be avrs list your mods the mod the installation procedure time and cost benefit, real or for personalization advise the next avr on the possible goofs on install picture before during and after example got change 1st mod plexiglass inserts in sail panel openings smoked plexi panels $40a pair two hours to make cardboard template air flow management coolspot for american flag decal first hang plexi with 4 small beads of silicone let dry finish full bead around plexi avr help line template tracing? I'll send you one!!

Maybe this could be a web page under resources...

Set up like a table...Headings could be ....

Mod - Costs - Difficulty - Time - Threads

This way you could scan the list and then click on threads to get info or add info to the threads...

Goo you could do this...come on stop eating them hooter wings for a bit and try >:D

Here are some mods to start the list:

Amber DRL
More powerful foglight bulbs

Side Window Vent thingys
Rear window decal thingy
Trailer harness plug relocation
Hard wire radar detector

(and for Goo) NEONS

Add your mods to this thread so we can get a good idea of all available...if nothing it would be a starting point for newbies and allow them to search for the threads until GOO makes the list...

PS I voted Goo to make the list LOL >:D

Looks like only jackalanche can follow requested instructions.

This looks like a good project for Mr. Locking Fuel Door ;D

Are you ready for a special assignment?

ygmn's suggestion of an index on the resource page seems simple and straight forward. ashame computer database can't sort and manage it automatically.

Of course then there is
painting
after market install stero, cd clip under back seat too
wheels and tires, what fits and what don't
decal sets
drop kits
lift kits
;D >:D

I'm sure no one else has this mod.

I took a sheet of particle board and cut it out to fit over the rear seats when folded down so my dog could ride in the cab! Then I had to put carpet on the board to keep the dog from sliding around when cornering.

I could post a how-to, but I think it's self explanatory.

Anyone else?

Just want to warn you Goo...

I installed the APC indiglow style white faced gauges (with the green/blue switch) in my Blazer, and they were complete CRAP.

-NONE of the holes lined up correctly.

-It wrinkled up when it got cold out, pressing against the gauges needles so that they couldn't move.

-The overlay for the digital numbers (odo) and letters (PRND321) was so dark, I could barely see anything at night, nevermind the day. I had to trim that piece out of the gauges and leave the stock one showing. ?(the gauges layed over the stock ones)

-Finally, they burned out within 6 weeks of owning them. ?No lights at all... nothing...

I was so frustrated with it all, I tore them out and threw them away. ?I should have bugged APC about it all, but I was just sick of all the problems in general.

EDIT:

Ironically, I heard of a lot of people having good luck with an Ebay guy who sells a real nice set. So far they're only for the S10's. Maybe I'll bug him one of these days and see what's up...

marc_w,

Who made the gauges you are talking about?

I bought through the ebay after I read on the net from some other guy who liked his non-AV ones from the same manufacturer and posted photos.

These are Unitedindiglo 7 color gauges.

Thanks,

goo929

gotta mod have done ten mods in ten days. one is "MY most embarassing Mod" could an avr achieve 20 mods in 20 days 30 in 30?

Goo, I think they were just regular ol' APC's... (what do they call it - All Pieces of Crap? :) ;D )

It's the same company that makes the euro tails, clear corners... etc. etc.

Yeah, your Ebay guy is the one the S10'ers use - they're good quality from what I hear.

I saw your pictures in the other post - they look a thousand times better than my gauges did. (y)
