I'm curious who is going that is also a motorcycle rider.  If I can make the event, there's about a 1000% chance that the bike *IS* going with me, so I thought I'd see who else might take theirs out there.

If you havent riden there, its freaking amazing :cool:

Our route will likely include a dip into northern CO, down to Copper Mountain then back across  :wave:

Great idea zuk! Bring your bikes.

Todd

Will be lots of bikes on trailers to see!  >:D

As much as I'd love to bring mine... I'd have to scrape off the, "If this bike is on a trailer, call the police, it is stolen!" sticker!

nice ride :)  My current plans are still up in the air, worst case I'll fly out to denver, rent a bike and ride up for a few days (y)

That would be a great idea! If you don't have anyone local attending to carry along anything else you might want to bring, I am sure you could ship a box to someone to bring it along.

IMHO, an AMERICAN? flag on a HONDA is as bad as a HARLEY sticker on a TOYOTA

I am sure there are a bunch of folks in Ohio who would be glad to tell you this Honda is American. (says the owner of the "Made in Mexico AV).

Yep, "My name is Johnny HanKook Yee, I make American Hondas, in your Ohio land. Thank you (Insert Bowing Smiley here)."

You'd cry if you knew how many Harley components are sourced offshore...

Saw a lot of Harleys today..

If anybody does take their MC out there be sure to ride Nemo Rd. Just west of Rapid City;

Also Custer state park, south of Rapid City;

If you look closely at the above picture the mirror of the car behind me is on the right, since I was on my MC I got moving right after this shot. :)

IBMike,
Are you a member of GL1800riders? Here's a shot of our gathering in New York.

175 bikes, from 42 states and not one arrived on a trailer.

Murman,
The sad truth is that "Harley" has morphed into a Chinese clothing store that happens to sell 60% American made motorcycles. The next time you go to your "Harley" store, try and find just 10 items made in America. You will be there a loooooooong time.
If you really want to "Buy American", get a Polaris Victory, it has the most American content.  :eek:

Sure am (I'm IB Mike over there also), been around that board since it was the old board. Before my Av (and this board) became my primary obsession and my bike took a back seat (I think I lost my mojo), I was among the top 10 posters for the first year or so, but then I bought my Av in July 04 and slacked off posting over there.

Looks like a great GTG!

So now I know what the IB stands for. Tomorrow morning I head for the Rockies Gold meet in Montrose, CO. From Detroit it is 1575 miles, so that will get me a Bun Burner. Have fun in Rapid City.
