Well tonight in the chat room Chief said it I am having his bad luck he had last year. sure enoght I went down town to get money from my dad for dinner and backing out of the parking spot I heard this bump bump I thought what's wrong with the locking differential then I went forward and flop flop yep guess what a flat my 2nd one in one year so I press the OnStar button and I tell them what happend so they said because of my Miles I have to pay 55 bucks and have some one I don't know come and change it well I just called the Chevy Dealer I work at and they came and changed it but man I am so mad :8: :8: stupid flat tires

Did you find out what the problem was? You should always identify what has caused the failure... you may find that you are picking up nails or screws at a particular area or place that you visit.

Without knowing I'll bet it was a rear tyre.

Skidd you got it it was the Right rear tire I did not have a flash light with me so I looked around and did not see any thing on the ground I will look at the flat tire to day when I go get it fixed (I hope they can fix it) but I have to go around with a stupit 16" wheel and tire for a day :6:

looks like you need that Mag light mod too.

Sorry, I know you're upset, but....it was easy and
'I'm just having fun' too and modding makes every Av'er happy.

hope your day gets better.

You may want to take a look at the valve stem. I just found after one month my right rear tire has a valve stem leaking. It turns completly around with my fingers. nice huh.
good luck :7:

You'd be set with the Mag lite mod, But Stick an LED Flashlight in there. ? They have a much cleaner, whiter light.

If you're looking to find the root cause, one thing you might want to rule out is malicious mischief. With all of the anti SUV weenies out there, it's not out of the question. Just make a point of checking your tires for nails, screws, and other sharp objects propped up against the treads BEFORE you drive away. Do this for two months no matter where you are leaving from; home, supermarket, mall, library, etc. You might be surprised with what you find and might avoid another flat. It won't tell you who's doing it, but at least you'll know you're not randomly picking stuff up off the road.

Well I found out what it was it was a screw in my tire they fixed it and I am happy

I do need to get the mag light mod that would have came in handy last night well I can't get over how :D: that spare is I had to go to school with it on

Here is a pic of what it looks like on the AV

Please don't take this the wrong way, but, it was just a flat tire.... :cautious:

Also, Lance, there is something called punctuation...

How bad can your luck be if you are driving an Avalanche :-*

Just my .02

Sorry for my punctuation and spelling, I am not the best at it also, yes it was just a flat tire, but it was just one more thing to deal with. I am trying to get ready to leave town tomarrow and that was just one more thing to get fixed today, and one more thing to get in to my pocket book.

If you are unable to fix a flat tire yourself then sure it's a big deal. ?I know I wouldn't care to have to pay $55 to have it fixed or go through anything that Lance had to go through to get it fixed. ?That's why we have "Avalanche Stories" so that people can share such stories. ?If I had a flat, I'd share it too but if it was no problem to fix, I probably wouldn't post it.

In terms of the way AvaLance makes his posts, I don't mind that way. ?That's pretty common for people his age and mine to type that way. ?I myself choose not to go that way as I am careful with my posts ?:).

But sonfour, you are right, somebody AvaLance's age is awfully darn lucky to be driving an Av ;) (y). ?

With the somewhat complex system on the Avalanche for lowering the tire (that may require a special connector) and then jacking it up, I know I wouldn't relish having to do a tire change on a grimy winter road.

Of course with my tire patch kit and QuickAir pump - hopefully I'll never have to find that out! >:D

Are you kidding Chief, with your luck you'll have two tires at once go bad >:D

Avalance look at the bright side, only the bottom of the tire was flat, so it really wasn't that bad.

is it just me or is there not a single photo of my truck with-out damage on it? and you call yourselves un-lucky... then again i'm still alive. :)

Although it would be nice if the Av's had a 5th matching wheel and tire for the spare, at least the 16"er isn't too noticeable at a quick glance. Nothing like those stupid bicycle tires most cars get for spares. :p
