My New Avalanche

Hi all I just got my 2002 avalanche last week. Great story to tell got quoted the wrong sale price and scored a fully loaded Z66. Almost had to take the dealership to court but they did the right thing. I got a pewter and grey trim with tan leather interior with the dark accents inside. Even heated seats. Now all I need is that new bumper thingy (whats it called?) and running boards. Can you guys tell I am a girl? I have wanted one of these things since they came out last year. Chevy even sent me a hotwheel in red as soon as they started promoting them. So how many ladies own one of these beauties. The kids and I have named it THING. DH is jealous. I have let him drive it a whopping two time. Now I want to run out for milk instead of sending him. LOL. This is the smoothest riding vehicle I have ever driven. You get into the drivers seat and feel like it was made for you. The weather in Bmt texas has actually been colod enough to turn on my heated seats LOL. Cannot wait to take it to the beach. The 17 inch tires are so sexy!!!

Welcome to the board Steph ;D

Remember to share! I let my wife take mine for a spin in the snow yesterday and now shes hooked

New to the board, and like it alot. Got my 1500 2wd about 1.5 months ago. Got the base model, Idigo Blue with the soft cover (the sales guy wouldn't have the hard cover put on it, even for additional charge and I wanted this one, oh well). I love it, smooth. I made the "mistake" and hauled over my limit of rocks. 2300 lbs. of Rocks with me (325 lbs) before I realized I exceeded the weight limit. It handled 15 miles of start/stop traffic like a champ and is no worse for wear (thankfully). I won't do that again. This truck "rocks", pun intended! ;D

Welcome Steph!! I let my wife drive mine at least a couple times a week. I don't mind trading every now and then.

My work truck (Avalanche)
Wifes car (Trans Am WS6 6 speed)

My wife hasn't driven it yet...We've joked about her driving it a couple times, but think she's scared to, never driven anything that big. I'm ready to let her drive it as soon as she decides she wants to try, probably just don't want it to be on a trip to the mall... ;D

Welcome!

My wife is scared of the AV too. ?She also thinks it's too big. ?I get it all to myself. ?:) ?She will be a passenger in it when we have large stuff to carry (her bi-ski, her tri-cycle bike, etc). ?She loved driving my old V-8 Plymouth. ?Maybe this V-8 will win her over too. ?;D

Our Av is actually the wife's vehicle. She's trying to get used to backing up and parking the beast. We've had 6 people in the Av several times over the last week since we got it and it does not disappoint with plenty of room. I just hope I get to drive it to work every now and then.

Driving my Grand Am after being in the Av is like driving a go-cart!

Congrats! Steph and welcome to the forum.....glad you went ahead and purchased one of the babies!! You won't be disappointed..

Have fun! :D

Welcome aboard the board - hope you are enjoying the new ride - yeah, butt warmers sure fell good this winter, even in Texas.

You know my old car was an astro van and I would say this beast handles better than it and is much easier to park even if I do need a little bigger space since the doors swing out. DH got to drive it yesterday to drill. However, its mine to drive to work. Anyone know where I can get some avalanche clothing? Such as shorts and shirts and such? :D

Try the chevy store. It is listed on the Chevy site somewhere.

Thay have all kinds of neat stuff.

hey, It is like my wife tells me. it is your truck honey but If I want I can drive it... she is at the store now... she has been gone 2 hours.. okay she will be back in about 3 hours...
