I'm looking into buying an '02 Z71 4X4 - loaded. About the only thing it doesn't have is heated seats. It has 20000 miles(I personally took it over 20K on my test drive ;)). The dealer was asking 27,900 - it blue booked at 28,500, and he lowered his price to 26,900. Is this about right for an '02 of that mileage? I've scanned Autotrader and Cars.com and have found mostly similar pricing in my area, but some about 250-350 miles away may be 1-2K lower. I live in the N.KY Greater Cincinnati area.

Any input is GREATLY appreciated.

It's just a matter of time till I find my Av.......

I have just been down this road in pricing the value of used '02 Avs. I think a real fair price for this - if it is as nice as you say - would be about $25 to $25.5k. This is based upon looking around a lot at used Av prices. Hope this helps...you'll find what you want...just be patient!

Kelly Blue Book said $23,600 for a Z66 with some goodies & 20000 Mi but since I didn't have the details, jump there and punch in the numbers. BTW, did you get the VIN for a lemon / history check?

The price sounds a little high - I would double check it on kbb.com. They have the largest national DB of prices from the other side of their business that is a major auto auction company.

Sobchak19,

Go back to the dealer and have them run the CAR FAX report for you as well. This will tell you if it has any hidden demons. The dealer should do this for you, if he doesn't, then I would keep looking.
The price doesn't sound to bad. Be sure and check the little details like a hard cover storage bag and floor mats. Use these to "negotiate" a better price if not included. Be sure and get a good look inside the bed under the covers as well. Chek the water management system, and pull up the rubber mat near the tailgate. If it was taken care of then this area should be fairly clean minus some water spots.

Good Luck in finding your AV!!!!

Little pricey, i picked my 02 2500 loaded every option with 15k miles and paid 25k for it, with extend warranty.

hope that helps

I always thought Kelly (kbb.com) retail prices were a little high. I usually check them, Edmunds.com, and NADA, which is now available on line, and compare/average them.

Also search around at other dealers and used car places....

Also check with local banks on pricing...they will tell you how much they will finance which is pretty good indicator of pricing...

I don't know what your money situation is, but you may want to consider new. I just drove a loaded 2004 Z-71 off the lot that stickered for $41,380 and I only paid $31,380 after a $6,500 discount from the dealer and GM's $3,500 rebate. If you had some GM card rebates coming, you could lower the price even more. (I couldn't use mine because it was a business purchase). For $4,400 more you get a new car with a fresh warranty that you can drive for two years before it's worth the $26,900 your looking at now. Whatever you decide, good luck and enjoy your new Avalanche.
