I keep hearing over and over and over again that after i get my lift that eventually i will get sick of it.  ie: having to hop in and out of it, slower driving and braking, being a sled (w/o regearing anytime soon),  etc.  Hopefully, this is not true.  I've been waiting years and years to do a lift and  i just would like some opinions if this has some substance.  thanx

whoever told u that never drove a lifted AV before. its complete BS. I LOVE driving my AV after i lifted it, i try to find any excuse just to hope in it and drive. Its the one of the few mods that i never regreted doing, if i go back i'll do it all over again. Lift it u will thank me afterwards.

I have to agree with NorthFace.  Yes, it will be slower off the line, but it's no biggie.  It's a little harder on the front components, but that's about it.  The ride didn't change at all and that was a big plus in my book.  The sway in curves is more noticeable, but this is a truck, not a sports car.  You have a much better field of view sitting up higher too, so you can brake a little earlier.  Getting in & out is no big deal unless you're vertically challenged.  It's nothing some steps or tubes can't resolve.

Just git er dun.  You won't regret it at all.  I love mine.

Just like northface and budman have said, when you compare the ride and feeling of the stock av to the lifted av, nothing's different except you're XX" (depending on lift) higher. The bigger the tires, the more oomph the engine is going to need to get rolling. For example, before the lift, a controlled, non lead foot start would probably get the engine to around 2000 rpms. Now, to get that same start, you're gonna be pushing the engine to 2500 rpms. Not that big of a problem. But if that bothers you, there's a little thing called a power programmer that will reset your computer to the new tires and all will be good. Also, doing a lift is a good way to cheat your odometer.

Get sick of the lift!

When my AV goes into the shop and I need to drive the Sable.
That Su@k's Even though it gets better Gas MPG!

100K on AV and still loving it.

Hey everyone!, I just got the phone call from the rv 4x4 center.  The parts are all in n its goin in Monday for its surgery!  Woo hoo! I,m smiling now:D:P  I don't know how I,ll be able to contain myself all week seeing I won't be able to pick it up till friday when I come off the road.:E:  I,ll start new post w/ all pics.

The only thing you may get sick of(but prolly not) is all the stares and compliments!! Congrats and looking forward to the pics!!! >:D

I have to agree with the entire lifted nation. Every truck I have ever owned has been lifted. I have the superlift FIT kit for my AV and I love it. I did have to swap out a few weak parts but overall it has been great. Plus all the smaller vehicles fear me when they hear the roar of my tires coming at them. Two things you must know.... 1) People will stare at you and drool. and you will get an invincibility complex.

Lifted AV'S Rule :B: :B: :B: :B: :B: :B: :B:

I'm startin to get a big head already >:D My truck gets attention now or I guess it could be the blonde hair, but nonetheless, they,ll think it's my boyfriend or husband's or somethin.  NOT!!  That'll p me off cuz it's all mine.  hehe>:D
