Need help on son's PU (OK, it's not an Av but it does have Av Z71 wheels and Av floor mats, so it's an Av wannabe).

Got water spots on the windows that just won't come out. Tried vinegar (straight), bug and tar remover, steel wool as a last resort. Still spots.

I think it's from the previous owner driving through those wash and wash car washes but am not for sure.

Any ideas short of rubbing compound and orbital buffer?

maverick,I fought those spots abd used bartenders friend its a powder you can get it at grocery store. i rinsed the heck out of the truck to make sure none got on my black paint. I think it comes from the car wash soap.. try it.... bartenders friend

Zaino makes a glass polish that works real well with an orbital polisher....i did my avy windows yesterday....real shiny now!

Zaino glass polish is an abrasive designed for windows....

The zaino products for paint are non abrasive....

The glass polish does have abrasives in it...

Try using the Zaino Z-1 Polish Pre-cleaner. I had water spots where the wipers couldn't get some hard water sprinkler mist off. That Z-1 took it right out :)

I have and love most of the other Zaino products but not the glass cleaner.

Will get some and report the results.

Had the same problem. Had the manager at the car wash/detail shop look at it and he got som 0000 steel wool and some polishing compound and it came off. I was a little skeptical about the steel wool but he did a small spot with no damage to the glass so I had him do the whole window. Worked well. Don't rub too hard though.

Hey, How much did those Ave wheels set you back to try and Rip off an AV! Just kidding. I hope it's at least a Silverado or CK or somthing. :B:

Yes, it's a 2000 Silverado with a lift kit. The wheels really look good on it!!!

Wheels were $475 including freight. Got the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S like on the Z71 package for $737 drive out.

Really made a difference!!

Sorry for a dumb question...

Do these abrasive solutions have any negative effects on tinted windows? Is the tinting on the inside or outside?

Tinted tends to be on inside ...and yes the abrasive cleaners should not be used on them.....HTH
