Please delete thread, who was I kidding, next time I will consult with Joeami before I post. He is obviously the SoCal guru and sets the standard for all standard of living?

never mind, just take your career advice from 2 knuckleheads that still live at home :beating:
I've officially thrown in the towel on this subject :E:

I have several friends at BP Prudhoe Bay, I can vouch for the excellent pay.

hey, that rhymed, in a Dr. Seuss kind of way

You still wont be able to afford to live in socal though haha. Property tax will kill you and the higher standard of living here. I wont be able to move out of my parents house(19) until im like 23 if i wanna live here.

You obviously live in the "OC" You can get affordable housing in L.A. County, which is closer to the job. Torrance and Carson and Long Beach are affordable

Long Beach

The pay is $$$$

Damn, just when I thought I could be paid in jolly ranchers...
But, like butterfingarz said, the cost of living out here is ridiculous. $600,000 will get you a cozy 1800s.f. 2br 1.5 ba house. Not to mention you're five feet away from your neighbor and you live in the ghetto. House prices are just crazy. If you want to move cross country, go ahead, but know what you're getting in to. BTW, I live in LA County and it's probably just as expensive as the OC. IF you want good sized houses at reasonable prices ($800,000 for 3000 sf), you're gonna get them on a lot that is about 200 sf bigger than the house and live way out in the desert with constant 50 mph winds.
