Hi All,

Our AV is a week old today and while having our Viper Security/Remote Starter and Rear Sensors installed got hit by a dust storm.

Is it ok to run it through a carwash? ??? If yes, any suggestions here in the East Valley?

Thanks in advance and hope I posted on the right forum section,

amatlock :)

Unlike most of the fanatics around here, I don't fuss a lot with any of my vehicles when it comes to washing and waxing. That being said, I always get compliments on how nice they look. I wash often, but at a high pressure spray hand car wash. Lots of extra spot free rinses when it gets dusty. I don't touch it with a cloth any more than I have to. You'd be amazed at how good it looks only having been hand washed twice in over a year. Much as I like it I won't be a slave to it.
BTW, same goes for the Wife. >:D

BTW, congrats on your purchase and Welcome!

See if you can find a brushless car wash. They do a relatively good job without scratching. Usually after the AV comes out of the wash I wipe it off with a towel. Doesn't take long at all.Herb

Hello... and welcome to the club!

Check out this thread on wash & wax for AVs actually under the detail section you will find many good threads and advice depending upon your time and skill level.

For a brand new AV, I would personally hand wash it with soft clot. I saw that Klasse also makes a top coat for going over their AIO. It is designed to protect new paint, too. You might want to give that a look, too.

Hey on the east Valley go to Arizona Auto Wash in Chandler, Warner and Alma School.... the manager is a member of the club >:D

I take my Av there basically once a week.... Also they are a handwash... so no worries about brushes damaging the AV...

Although today they will be closed to to the rain storm we are having :2:

Amatlock,

IF you look at azautowash's web page linked to earlier you can find discount pages to print so it is almost half price. I have had my wife Minvan and my Avalanche done. The works for just about $10.00 and they do a good job. I normally wash by hand but running late to the GTG last night so I stopped by and they did a good job.

I also have used the Mr. Clean's new spotless auto wash and it seems to work pretty good here isn AZ.

Good luck and Welcome to the club. :)
