Holy crap, my down payment was more than that

I have to agree, They haven't released pricing yet, Plus the other night I went to look at the window sticker of a new Tahoe LS and it was at 34k. Granted it was a base model, but I figure if I can get what I want (Roof, XM 6 disk, buckets w/console, remote starter, homelink) for under 40k msrp I'm good with that. I don't have to have the 20's, nav, backup camera, dvd ect. How much have all of you spent on mods that wern't available before? I.E. 20's (or bigger) back up camera, nav, remote starter plus all the still aftermarket stuff. I know I spent a ton. Enkie probably has about 15K (guessing) tied up in his! ?ygmn said:So what are you saying are the base and loaded price for the 2007 Avy?
You give no point of reference other then saying a 2007 tahoe is $58k...
To be fair...you need to have the 2006 tahoe base price and loaded to gill price....against the 2006 Avy base and loaded price...
then make a 2007 base & Loaded price to even come close to guestimating the price of the 2007 AVY...
So info needed to make informed choice in poll is:
2006 Base Tahoe MSRP
2006 Base Avy MSRP
2006 Loaded Tahoe MSRP
2006 Loaded Avy MSRP
2007 Base Tahoe MSRP
2007 Base Tahoe MSRP
then by doing the differences in the tahoe you can then add that to the 2007 avy to be in somewhat the correct Zipcode for the 2007 avy MSRP.....
so...I can't vote in this....

Some like the assurance of OEM warranty...which has some value....farmguy said:A couple of observations. First, there is a huge difference between msrp and actual purchase price. Assuming the $54K figure is correct, by mid-year, with incentives and dealer discounts you will be able to buy one for thousands less...probably in the neighborhood of $40k to $44k.
Second, this is a good indication why buying new is not always a smart decision. As soon as they sign the title over to you and the bank and it becomes a used vehicle, the value drops to about $43k before you even drive it off the lot. The best values are on low milage, 2-year old vehicles where someone else has taken the front end depreciation hit.
That's kind of what I figured judging by the change in Tahoe pricing, then comparing that to the 06 Avalanche pricing and guestimating a similar adjustment. I'm hoping to get a fairly well equipped LT3 or LTZ for the lower 40s. If not I may have to wait a bit longer.Nightshark said:Loaded Tahoes are always several thousand higher than the loaded 1500 series Av.
I am estimating a loaded LTZ Av will fall around $46k-$48k. ?About $5k more than the loaded 2003 I had, but with several options that were not available then.

SabreXray said:Yes but the Avalanche is a Utility SUV (read Suburban with the back modified to haul sh$t), not a truck, if you want a work truck buy a Silverado, they are much, much cheaper.
