I have a new Black Z-66 WBH arriving Today or tomorrow. Could not wait to start the modding. I just ordered a billet grille from carriage works. The correct part number is 41832. It is the exact same grille from the 03 Silverado.
I am already planning the next mods.

Welcome Rollie66, I am in Madera, about an hour North of you. Please post pics of your new Av. All of us are interested in seeing the WBH Models.

I previously posted in another forum a pic of just the grill. Here is the grill and the new billet bowtie.

Looks really sharp! (y)
I think it really makes the AV shine, esp. because it is WBH.

That is a nice looking grille, I als have a 03 WBH z71 AV, It is white. Because the WBH has a front end like a Silverado, the posilbilities of what type of
brush bars are endless. I just put a sharp looking(RHINO) brush bar with two mounted KC 150 watt driving lights and some chrome nerf bars on it. She is so darn pretty, It almost brings a tear to my eye

Hi, I installed the Carriage Works Billet Grill on my WBH. It was fairly straight forward. It took me about 20 minutes because I was centering the grill.

Anyway, the biggest part of the job was trying to thread the screws through the anchors. Not bad really.

Here is a pic.

Here is a picture of the Carriage Works Kit #41832.

The Grill
8 Anchors
8 Screws
and instructions.

The instruction forgot to list the most important step. Take off the fan cover or whatever it is called.

Here is a pic of the kit

>:D This happens to be the best looking grille out there (of course I'm partial, I HAVE ONE) Everyone has Billets.... I wanted to look a lil different. They make this grill for the Necked AV's too!

Just out of curiosity how many people buy the cut-out grille vs the overlay type? On my superduty I had a stull cut-out and it was a pain but looked great. I plan on getting a Carriage works grille but haven't decided which type. I like the look of the overlay type sitting flush with the shell, but don't like being able to see the stock grille behind it. Any comments?

After much consideration and looking at a lot of options, I am going with a cut out grill for my WBH. It will be a little more effort, but worth it in the end I think.

Not that spending more time with your Av is a such bad thing...

Major,
What grill did you end up getting? I've been looking for a "cut out" grill as well. I just never like the thought of being able to see the original one behind.

Winterq,

After much research, I purchased a black billet grill by a company called B-Cool. Their website is at http://www.b-coolbillets.com

I bought it through Demand Motorsports, who appears to have closed down in the last few weeks because their website seems to be no more. B-Cool is a small shop in Riverside CA who makes their own grills and they are of very high quality IMO.

It is a cut out grill. It took me about 8 hours to install, but I am pretty slow and meticulous. Really not too complicated. The instruction were not the best, but was good enough to understand the modifications required. Once you remove the grill, basically, you use an open hack saw to cut out the factory weave. Then you wet sand the remnants of the factory weave so that it is flush and you cannot see it. This is what took the most time. Then you make the necessary modifications to the back side to hold the upper and lower grill in place. Finally, you reinstall the grill.

Here is the first pic of it on my living room floor.

Here is a pic of the grill installed including my new billet bowtie with border. I had to look high and low to find a bowtie with border for a WBH. It is a smaller bowtie than the one with cladding. Most of the ones you find do not have this. I got it at http://www.american-truck-auto.com, who also has LOCKING BILLET FUEL DOORS in both brushed and polished at a good price. This is another thing that folks have been looking for and I am going to order one soon.

I was really after a stealth, factory look. Most folks who do not own an Av look at it and think that it is factory. It is always good when things turn out as you had hoped.

Ciao,
