Does the avalanche have to be moving to engage the 4wd when you push the button. I'm new at this type
:welcome: No, it does not need to be moving to engage the 4wd. You can push the button while you are in park. That being said, there are more specific procedures if shifting into 4WLO. To engage four wheel low you should be stopped and have the transmission in neutral. Same if you are shifting out of 4WLO to 4Hi or 2WD.

owners manual covers how to use 4x4 system pretty well.

check our resource section for owner's manual pdf files.

Hello my name is Bill Stampe and I live 7 months in Puerto Vallarta. I bought my 07 Avalanche LT here and as far as I know it was built here at a Mexican GM factory. It's a great truck with 115k miles. Getting body parts like side mirrors or door handles is tough.

Hey everyone..... Bob Smith here. Not really a newbie but rather a returnee. I had an 09 LTZ previously and due to a shift in needs - for a vehicle to pull a 5th wheel - I sold the 09. I've had a few vehicles since then and just the other day I picked up a 2013 LTZ BD. When the BD's came out I wanted one -now I've got it! She black and she needs some dress up like my 09 had but that will come. For now - I'm glad to be back in the saddle and back here on the forum. I hope to be able to provide as much as I hope to acquire here.

How's it going everyone RJ here. Just got my first Avalanche its a 07 LTZ and I'd be hard pressed to say I'm not currently obsessed with the truck. Got all the parts I need to do a cam swap and dod delete. Gonna upgrade her soon!

Hi, just purchased 2011 Avi. How do I know what model (LS, LT, LTZ) if it has no badges? It's non 4x4, no heated seats, no air suspension. Bucket front seats, woodgrain accents, electric everything, factory brake controller. Does any of that help? Thx!

check glovebox RPO codes

I dunno but we have this:

If you do a search for a GM vin decoder it will give you quite a bit of info. Or you could contact your local dealer with the vin and ask if they’ll provide you with a vin report.

What's up everyone, I'm living in bayou country.
New to me 07 z71 avalanche is sitting pretty in my driveway right now. Previous vehicle was an 03 2wd avalanche, she had a brake issue that caused her to meet a telephone pole 😔.
Love those avalanches

New owner of a 07 LTZ. Been lurking here for a few weeks. Just brought it home today 330,000kms (205,000 miles).
$7000 CDN ($5170 USD). Very nice condition for the age, garage kept, little surface rust on the underside, small amount of paint peel ( 1/2 inch) around the tailgate handle. All fluids refreshed, new Goodyear Wrangler tires, some clear coat peel on the rims,
PPF on the front, hood and headlights. Tracks straight as an arrow, no drivetrain noises, interior is amazing for a 17 yr old vehicle.
New vehicle window sticker in the glovebox shows MSRP was $55,xxx when new. Suncoast? Orange metallic I believe the color is called.
All in all seems like a fair deal.
So far…..🤷🏼‍♂️
Cheers,
Rick

Hello and thank you for the add.

I have a black 2011 LT I purchased about 1.5 years ago and love it. She has 235k Km and has some rust spots on the rear quarters that I'll be looking to replace with new metal.

Hope yo get some help with some issues I can't figure out here.

Thanks!
