PRODUCT NEWS
CAMI PLANT TO PRODUCE ALL-NEW CHEVROLET COMPACT SUV ....

Chevrolet announced Tuesday that it will offer an all-new compact sport utility vehicle in 2004 called the Equinox. The Equinox, Chevrolet's first crossover-based SUV, will debut as a 2005 model and will be built at CAMI Automotive, Inc. in Ingersoll, Ontario. The new vehicle will be based on GM's Theta architecture, which is the same architecture used for the Saturn VUE.
"The Compact SUV market is being fueled by new products that are larger, more powerful and more upscale," says Margaret Brooks, Chevrolet Marketing Director. "The Equinox will be a strong competitor in this growing segment."

GM of Canada and Suzuki Motor Corporation authorized CAMI to invest more than C$500 million to bring the Equinox to the CAMI assembly plant. CAMI is a joint venture between GM of Canada, Ltd. and Suzuki Motor Corp. of Japan.

Zimms,

A little help with the picture please?? ;D ;D.
I fixed it ;D

I don't think it looks bad...if GM can land the deal on this guy, and it turns out to be successful...than bring it on...better for GM to expand their product line in a positive fashion... :B:

How many crossover vehicles do we need on the market? ?Can you say SATURATION?!
This is a problem in general. (i.e. Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Chevrolet and Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ford and Mercury.) I continue to wonder if the best solution to the automobile manufacturers' financial woes would be to consolidate themselves and tighten up the product lines. But what do I know? Obviously not enough, since I don't work for any of them. :)

My dad is an engineer at GM up here in canada and he worked on this project..............................its called the TRAVERSE.........but they might of changed the name?!

I can give u guys specs and what type of engines this machine is going to be equiped with!

This is going to be a great little SUV, trust me!

Does it say how many people it holds. My wife wants something small like that but wants two bench seats in the back.
