Not the usual knocking sound on cowl!

I just came back from a drive to Vermont and experienced an irritating sound coming from my cowl . It is a tapping/knocking sound that occurs every 20 seconds or so. IT IS NOT HAPPENING WHEN I'M MOVING so it couldn't be that flapping sound everyone is talking about. I'll be stopped at a red light or in a parking lot idling with no HVAC on and then this tapping sound starts. Does anybody know what this is caused by and is anybody else experiencing this?

I've had my '04 for a month now, and I have the same knocking noise. A friend of mine said she heard an Avi in a parking lot knocking for a good 30 minutes. I'm taking it to the dealer when it is time for the 3000 mile service. They said something might need to be lubed: we'll see.

I also have the same noise....I need to take it in so it can be looked at. In the meantime the radio drowns out the noise.
