one hl is brighter

Swap the bulbs to make sure whether it's the bulbs or the assemblies.
If the 'brighter' moves with the bulb, replace both bulbs.
If not, have the dealer check the assemblies and wiring (I'm assuming you're not very up on auto electrics).

Are the outsides clean?

SWap bulbs?

Take to dealer...

How much different?

You can also check your allignment against a wall. If one beam is higher than the other, it may be why it is preceived as brighter. Either way, the dealership should be able to help you on this one. Most good service departments can check that out in minutes.

In reference to checking the aiming against a wall... Isn't the driver's side beam supposed to aimed slightly lower than the passenger's side? I thought they came from the factory this way. It is supposed to help alleviate the problem of you blinding on-coming cars. Like Wiki said... if that's the case, perhaps you just *think* it's brighter. ;D

I thought the driver's side wasn't lower, but aimed further to the right to stay out of oncoming traffic. I agree though that it might be an aiming issue that's making one seem brighter.
