??? Anyone had a similar problem? After having a quick lunch yesterday, jumped in my AV to head back to work and noticed that I had no radio! Well, pulled over and pushed the buttons for several minutes with no luck and then noticed the flashing green light on my Onstar. Tried pushing all the Onstar buttons with no luck, so turned aroung to head to my dealer. Head Service Technician (who happens to be a trusted relative) looked it over, cut the AV on and off, and couldn't get it to work either. He said he had never seen this happen or heard of it and would check the tech bulletins. While waiting for him (about 5 minutes), I cranked up again and it worked fine!??! I had to run, so told him I'd watch it and let him know. On the way back, pushed the Onstar button and they said they'd never heard of it either. She sent a probe and said the AV checked out 100%.

Hope this isn't a sign of future trouble.

Did you ever get the radio working? Is it possible you hit the onstar button and didn't know it? If the onstar button got hit then the radio wouldn't work. :-*

A friend of mine lost his radio after there was a momentary unexplaned power loss. The anti theft device kicked in and would not let the radio operate until the password was punched in.

Unfortunately, he had not programmed a personal password and had to take it to the dealer. Onstar could not help.

The moral of the story is program your own personal password in! Directions are in the owners manual.

I thought of this, but because of the location of the Onstar button there is no way that I could have hit it by mistake. ?The radio never did work until when I later cranked the AV, radio began working and Onstar flashed red and finally went solid green. ?I must say that this is the very first problem that I've had otherwise. ?No leaking, wind noise or transmission humps.

There are some other threads on this (loosing time). My radio has done the same thing: lost time and locked up (I have a code set). Dealer looked at it and coudn't find anything wrong. No surprise. It's happened twice. This tester hasn't seen it repro enough to figure out the repro steps. I guess that's good.

I saw this and I'm not even sure what they are talking about, but incase it's related. I posted it anyway. ???

Have any of you with the lost time or electical malfunctions experienced any paranormal activity before the occurence?

No, but I wouldn't joke about it. One of our fellow AV owners had his whole AV abducted by a professional thief. ???

Yesterday took the AV in for radio time advancement and not coming on when starting the truck, they took the radio out and sent it back to Delphi to be checked. 1st minor thing found so far after 18000 miles. I will get it put back in Thursday.

Oh my,.. I hope you have a better experience than I did!
I took mine in for the light flickering when set on low IP light setting, and they pulled it out,.. and the truck sat for almost 2 weeks. Lucky for me, I have accesss to company trucks, but after the second week I demanded a new unit. Well the "new" unit lasted all of 5 miles down the road and began to lock up and turn on & off by itself. Not just your power loss symptoms, it would turn on/off with the seek button, or all buttons would go dead! Then the battery went dead over the weekend!
After screaming about it, and demanding another new one, they had the truck 3 days, and then I demanded one be pulled out of a stock AV at the dealer.
Radio works fine now, but even the new one has the flickering back light when IP dimmer is real low.
I just live with it.

No problems with my radio or clock.

Now my wrist watch is a different thing all together.
