At least that is what the temp on my mirror is reading ???  While it has gotten colder in Maryland with storm front it is not that cold.  Can anyone clue me in as to where the outside temperature sensor is in the engine compartment?

thanx gary

Its right on top of the exhaust manifold on the drivers side.

:kidding:

Its the forward most sensor you can see well forward of the radiator near the middle. I never seen one anyplace else on a GM vehicle or any other vehicle for that matter :D

and if it was on the manifold i would really be in trouble with a temp of - 40

pulled off the grill to get to the sensor.  It was just dangling by the wires.  But it looks broken.   Took it to Autozone and they do not carry them.  :E:  So i am off to a junk yard tomorrow to try and find one.  I will post pics of the new and old tomorrow.

I'm glad you posted that. We were wondering why the temp on the mirror was reading oc but I never did look it up before coming back to Iraq from vacation. Now I know what I did... I forgot to plug the thing back in when I put the trans oil cooler in. Ooops.  :E:
