Just finished these today. They actually turned out pretty good. Still can't get anything to stick to the headlights yet.

The cladding is off for painting.

I'll get the part number for the LED's on moday and let you know. They were not expensive at all.

do you need an electrical something to put inline with the led so that they blink and fucntion like the normal bulbs or do you just work plug and play

The LED's are plug and play.

Zimm....I forgot to get the part # :2: I will ahve it tomorrow along with the # where to buy them and $.
You will have it by 11:00. Sorry for the delay :cautious:

the taillights look good. i am also impressed by the LED's as well. i would like that part#, price, and location as well. :B:
thanx

I think your painted taillights look great. I also noticed that you have painted your AV. Looking forward to the completed AV.

I tried some LEDs on the 02 Av from Jockos and they 'caused my blinkers to blink fast on one side, as if there was a burnt bulb. ?May have just been the brand, they said they were for chevy only. ?Let me know if they function properly. ?Another thing, ?not having a regular bulb in the rear tail lights would make it not reflect so nice. ?With a regular bulb it reflects and looks like lots of little LEDs. ?I would like them though... just to see what I like better. ?With the LED blinkers in the mirrors I would like LEDs everywhere, so they all come on at once. ?

The LED's come from J&A auto Accessories and are made by Ritar. There is no part number on any of the packaging. They come in red, amber, blue and green. They should be around $20 a pair. They all are clear when off. (y)

Very interesting look. (y)

I've noticed that on the tail lights, there is a portion that is reflective, and looks like a "B" when reflecting. This appears to be the part you painted. Is there still enough reflection from the other parts of the taillights? I'd hate to see your truck get rear-ended when parked on the road because someone couldn't see it. (Probably a bigger concern for black trucks than it is for white.)

ahhyeah

i had the same problem you mentioned with the "burnt" bulb blinking speed with the leds. i then installed a potentiameter in my blinker assembly, and am now able to adjust the speed of the blinker. but this mod was done in a 1999 suburban, old body style.

If you look at the link i posted on the second page of this thread you will see that those led bulbs do have side wall lighting so that you can actually light up the reflecticve part of the housing as well

they look great on my truck

not an av, but they are bright

expensive, but good
lifetime warranty also

replies are good

Hey Shape.....

They reflect just fine. They are actually very bright. We taped off the lense to test that before we painted it. It still works well and is well lit.

I LOVE that look. I was looking for some clear covers both front and back to paint the insides of and cover my headlights during the day, and do a similar paint scheme to the rear lights on the inside of the cover. Does anybody know where I can get clear headlight covers and clear taillight covers?
