The other day I was at my local petboys talking to a guy that works there a bought all the things I have used on my body cladding , Stoners shine Meguires shine and the list goes on. I told him that most of the products work well the thing that I do not like is that most of them say do get on paint and after a rain or just excess will run if on to the paint and streak down the sides of my AV. He then showed me a New product by Pennzoil called Total Care that is made for plastics and paint he was so sure that this would work he gave is to me and said use it and you will be back for more. Well he was right, I do not have to try not to get it on the paint because I can use it on the paint to with no damage and it work pretty good it looks like it darkens the gray up a little to. Hey give it a try and see how you like it. Do not get it on the clear plastic like your driving lights or fabric. :0:

IT is a polymer sealant similar to others but dries a bit different and is a bit easier to take off.......

I'll have to remember this product the next time I'm shopping for products....thanks for the heads up.

How is it with dust. Do you find the dust and dirt getting stuck to it?

Hmm, I wonder if AutoZone sells it, we don't have a local Pep Boys.

It is sold at most auto parts stores...even wal mart...it comes with a Micro fiber towel too,,,,,

It is meant as a ONE product does all thingy....it is for paint....windows....plastic etc etc etc........

Good luck

Any UV protection with this stuff ?

ygmn, I don't know if you remember, but I was the one with the white residue on my cladding after using black magic and going through a couple of rain storms. It came off when washed, like it was dirt or something, but I am looking for something that is a little less tedious to maintain.

Thoughts? I have a sample of the 303, but it can only cover a little tiny bit of the cladding. Haven't tried it yet.

I have been using the 303. I like how it does NOT feel greasy. I haven't noticed the dirt sticking to it any more then non-treated cladding.

just my .02

Peace,
Todd

The truth is only suntan lotion has UV protection.....as it is governed by FDA....where as car stuff is FTC...and they say UV inhibiotrs which does not really mean much other then it is better then not having it....

So if they had say a SPF of 0.000001 they could say it is a UV protector.....kinda a markting thing.....

to see what 303 is like go buy some Meguiars trim shine.....or the proffesional stuff called rubber vinly protectant...pretty much the same stuff....if you can see a difference in what they look like after applying then you are incredibley gifted.......

This cladding has me puzzled....as 303 and similar does not last since it canot really soak in...it lasts about 2-3 wettings (rains or washings) ...and then it goes back to what it was......

Eagle one wet tire shine last longer since it is oily I would say 10-15 wettings (rain or washings)

The problem is the Cladding is not porous enough to soak up protectant like say rubber or other trim...and it is bumpy enough to make it a PIA to remove wax build up......

I have some Klasse Sealant glaze which when applied thin leaves very little hazing....it is a polymer and should stick and last but removal could be a real PIA.....same as zaino or other wax.....it needs to dry clear....but no product really dries clear becuase then you could not see it to remove when buffing.....

Clear coat paint may be the ticket...but what a PIA....as it will seal in color as it is...and the look...but would fade over time.....and then it is sealed in.....

from my guestimation the ARMO dillo stuff is a thick gooey paint like stuff.....probably lots of silicone.....I dunno I asked for MSDS bu they never sent to me for some strange reason......

All I can say.....is I am currently using the Eagle one wet tire stuff and similar products for a long term testing......it seems the best to me so far.....

HTH or atleast was entertaining.....heheh

Pet Boys??? Hum we don't have one of those here, and if we did I don't think I'd be going to it. ;)

WOW, I'm sure glad that my Wolf is unclad. I don't have near as much plastic to deal with as you guys.

We don't have near as many door dings as you do will. ;D

Yes there is UV protection with this product it also does away with the powdery residue from oxidation, hides scratches / swirl marks and leaves no wax build up. :D:

Was not a question but statement as this pennzoils stuff is a polymer.....

And pretty much all detailing waxes and sealants have petroleum distilates....it is like a universal solvent for these products......

HTH

Was at autozone and they have this stuff in the clearance rack....$4 for the stuff which gives ya sponge cheap MF towel and the bottle of stuff....so I have sample to test and play with.....so far I used in on some rough textured black plastic ...and it does not dry....kinda like a lotion....

I also found another polymer wax claiming SPF 45....came with wash and crappy orange sponge like towel....Another bottle for my collection......

DId notice PENNZOIL now has a polymer WAX...and tire product which looked promising for cladding...seems they are getting away from the one all product

Thats an idea! Why wouldnt suntan lotion work? It would give UV protection and moisturize the cladding!

check back a few pages....I started a thread on this...but I never went through with my testing.....I may this summer....

:0:Yes, this stuff works great. Penzoil total care was the only thing I would put on my AV. Bad thing is now I can't find it anywhere. But I haven't checked PepBoys in a while. I'll be heading there today. Thanks. ;D
