I am looking for photos of anyone running the
285-60-18 settup. Hopefully on a WBH. (but all welcome)

I drive 35k miles a year, and do a fair amount of towing.
(I work in the marine biz) I am being seduced by the lower
pricing and slightly taller sidewall of the 18's.

Any thoughts pro and con as to the 18 vs 20 would be
appreciated.

I've got that size tire on my truck. I went with 18s rather than 20s because I didn't want to lose the smooth ride. Also, since I've done a ton of performance work to my truck, I didn't want to lose any performance to the heavier wheels/tires. You have to accelerate and stop all that extra mass. I don't know what the difference is but I'm sure the 20s are a good bit heavier. I'm at work so I can't post pic right now.

I found it quite interesting that on a Sports Car Revolution show of several weeks ago, after modifying an Acura Integra, the rear wheel dyno indicated a loss of horsepower. After making some calls, the supplier of their larger disk brakes indicated that his computer model indicated that the larger disks would likely show up on the dynometer as a loss of 12 hp. Makes me really think twice about going to larger disks and wheels greater than forged 18".

A couple of pics of My 18" Chrome AR Terons with new BF Gooodrich g force tires in a 285/60/18.
NOTE: I'm not a pro at the digital camera yet so please bare with my poor photography :p

SWEET
I wonder if 65's would make much of a difference ???

I'm running 305 / 55 R 18 on my 2003 WBH. I'll try and post some pics tonight when I get home. I really like the look.. Also found a
nice website for comparing different sizes...

I'm running MKW rims, specifically the MK-18.. Here's there website.

No rubbing or issue of any type, other than getting the tires balanced correctly. This was my first experience with after market rims and tires, so it took awhile to get use to having a tire that wide on the front end when it comes to uneven roads with ruts in them.

I know you were looking for pics of 285/60/18, but here's the pics of my 305/55/18. The 305's are just a tade shorter and a bit wider. I'm happy with the choice. Lots of folks suggest larger rims, but I'm happy with the ride and the look of the 18's. Hope this helps.

I just have a question?? WHY UPGRADE from 17" to 18" , and get only minor BLING potential, WHEN YOU CAN UPGRADE to DUBS and get MAJOR KRUNK BLINGAGE!!!

>:D >:D (y) :2:

In my case it would be Kaching vs Bling, and Kaching would win out. Which explains why I'm running stock tires on 16's bought used. Just a little bling. :cautious:

I went from 17" to 18"s and am quite happy with the look, no KRUNK but I get lots of compliments from folks as the 285/60/18 fills up the wheel wells quite nicely :)
