Has anyone ever taken their Av on the fireroads down in the Pinelands?  I was driving along Route 72 today and there are dozens of dirt (sand) roads that go off in all directions.  I think they are used by the Forestry service as fire roads.

First, is it fun driving the Av on roads like this?

Second, is it legal?

Years ago when I lived up there I use to take my S-10 out.  Some of the trails can be tricky.  You can easily find yourself lost.  (Get a GPS unit)  Not sure if it was legal or not, never was stopped and many times rangers were on the trails and / or NJSP on the roads while I was exiting.

Note: some of the fire trails start off wide but will/can get narrow.  (ie, scratches)

I am up and ready to go again Warton park just head south on Rt206
there are 110,000 acre's to drive around on. all you need is a street legal vehicle registered and insured.

i am ready to go with my avy as well.

i have been there, but only with jeepjamboreeusa.com [i also have a jeep]

someone organize a another gtg.

I have been on them many times on ATV's and trucks.. Some times the Rangers are cool some times they can write you up.. It depends on there mood...

I may be up there the first weekend of May for a boat trip on the Wadding River..

Sounds like fun either way...I like playing at the beach sometimes....I am still trying to find a descent mud trail around here that would get me thrown in jail >:D
