Trying to decide on a 2003 Z71 vs a NFE. I really like the seating and white gauges. Gauges would be easy mod on a Z71.

It looks cool but seems to me to be about $2500 overpriced, but I still want it.

If you bought a 2003 NFE AV I would like to hear your feedback though!

I don't pick mine up until Monday but I definitely think its worth, I am getting a steal on the truck, $42,000 list, but after GM Pep discount, employee discount, and rebates I'm getting it for $28,000 out the door with tax title and license. Just one of the perks for having a father that works for GM. I love the complete interior and the Medium Sage Green color, there really aren't that many on the road.

I wanted something outside of the norm, and even though the Avalanche alone is definitely different, but NFE just makes it more so. The leather seats are great, just wish they were heated. The day pods and duffalo thingies are of less use to me, but a nice little perk.

What is this "GM Pep" discount you speak of, and how does the rest of us get it? ;D

Seriously, that's how much I'm paying for my Av... and I thought i was getting a deal.

Hmmmm.
Can you get the North Face package on a WBH?
I just wondered, never heard anyone say anything about one.

The North Face Edition is not available with the WBH version. In fact, the NFE will not be available at all in the 2004 line.

I bought my NFE about 2 months ago and I think it is definatly worth it. People have a WOW factor when they see the outside of the truck, then when you open the door they really go nuts!!!
The only thing I wish I had gotten is the retractable mirrors, otherwise I am very happy ;D ;D

just wondering how 42k went to 28k. I get GMS and rebate and my figures do not add up to that much discount. GMS is about 1500 behind invoice and a 4K rebate does not compute to me. Could you break down the discounts and rebates so I can check them out. I just purchased a 43K AV at GMS and rebate and the end price was thousands over 29K( adjusting for the higher sticker price) I must be missing something. Did you have GM card money. That is the only way I can see it getting that low. Just wondering, I have done this for 23 years and I have a very good idea of what things cost, howerver GM car money could have made up the diff. Would appreciate breakdown of discounts so I can check this out at the dealership and make sure I didn't pay too much.

The PEP program is for GM Employees only. A GM employee (Level 8 or higher) drives the vehicle for 3 months as an evaluation. For $150 a month they get a vehicle, insurance, gas and car washes all for free. Based on the number of miles on the vehicle when they turn it in the buyer gets a bigger discount on top of GMS and the rebates, because mine had over 7000 miles I got a 14% discount. Most GM employees treat the vehicles very well and it is much like buying a new truck from the dealership. I couldn't have afforded my Avalanche without it. The GM purchasing Employee must have the vehicle in their name for 1 year after taking delivery, then after that time they are able to sell it to anyone as a used vehicle

now that you mention it I have heard of that. Did it a couple of times years ago with a former gm employee. Thanks for the info and it makes perfect sense. That is a really good deal. ;D
