Poor man's Intake

I was wondering if connecting,say... using a 3" shop vac hose from the lower valance straight to the air box will be too much air for the AV to handle?

I was lurking in my garage and it hit me.? what if?

Any ideas?? Do i have to redo hptuners?

Using that contraption would be that same as the snorkel kit that Volant sells for their CAI box. Since your motor draws air, and is not force fed by CAI (without a compressor... ), then you will be fine..... I do suggest however that you screen that thing to keep the bugs and road garbage outta your filter...

Hehe, as I alluded to before... what did you expect it to do?

The motor draws air into the TB by cylinders going up and down in sequence with valve openings that draw air in.....

you could add ten of those things and have no more airflow to the TB. I would think the biggest impact would be cooler air from the grill rather than warmer air from the engine compartment. Your impact would be cooler IAT temps. That is definitely one thing that is measurable with HPT...
