I previously owned an '03 Sport Trac that I loved and found extremely useful for my weekend projects around the house & for play when towing my wave runner to the beach.   So naturally when I traded her in for the family MiniVan  :(I was heart broken!  I took over the wife's '04 Eddie Bauer explorer. . . Nice ride, but I thinking about selling (tranny issues could be looming. . . want to get out before it gets too bad!). . . Not to mention I miss the pickup bed of the ST (but I hate the styling of the new ST).

Guess I just want to get everyone's general opinion of the '07 Avalanche. . . I love the styling of the LTZ with the chrome wheels and grill.   I've never had any experience with Chevy, as most purchases have been Ford, and just recently Honda with the purchase of the Odyssey. . . Anything about Chevy that I should be aware of?

Are there any big issues with the new '07 Avalanche?  Any problems that I should watch out for?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

:welcome: You really can't beat the midgate for weekend projects. The Avalanche swallows 4x8 sheets of plywood whole. They're just really useful and fun trucks. Personally I like the 02-06 body style but hey, that's just me. Good luck with your decision. Others members should be along shortly with their comments.  ;)

I have a couple of friends that have 07's they love them and no problems that I have heard.

BTW :welcome: to the club

Yes, here we all come now....

I have the 07 now and wish I had bought it sooner rather than buying the Hummer and then deciding that wasn't what I wanted at all. I wanted a SUV and a truck and this fits that 100%.
I would recommend this truck or even an 08 to everyone. My only regret is that I have no willpower not to mod everything I own.

and BTW  :welcome:

Easy now... move away from the twelve step program... it's not a disease... It's a lifestyle.  >:D

Purchased my LTZ in October last year.  Best truck I've owned.  Previously drove Silverados which were great also, but no comparison to the 07.  No issues thus far.  Great ride.  Gas mileage is only weakness, but that happens with a heavy rig such as the AVI.

Thanks for all the reply's.   Now need to convince the wife ???, and look real close at the #'s.     I think I read on the Chevy site that the incentives are about to change. . . Today is the last day of the current ones.

I may wait to seeif there is any change. . . I also might have an opportunity to get a '07 Chevy demo truck at auction.   I have an uncle that goes to the Chevy Dealer auction.   This is where Chevy auctions employee demo vehicles (with like 3-6K miles) exclusively Chevy dealers.   My uncle can get a local dealer to buy the truck for me, and I go through the dealer for the sale. . . My bro just did the same thing on an '07 Tahoe, and got a great deal!

Thanks again for the reply's and I hope to be reporting a new purchase soon!
