Price question Z66 opinions needed

First off let me say this is a GREAT site. I've been lurking for about 6 months and I think I may be ready to by an AV.

A local dealer has a used Z66 (sport leather,DIC) 10K miles asking 27k. I'm going to start my offer at $23.5K and see if they will bite. I've looked at Edmunds and I personally think their FMV is a little off. Especially considering the killer deals and rebates that have been going on for new 03 Av's as they try to make room for the 04s. I know a couple of people who have gotten used chevy trucks at least 2k less than what Emunds has as FMV.

I'm a very patient and very, very, cheap man so if I'm way off with my expectations I have no problem lowering them. I mainly want to make sure I won't be wasting my time trying to talk them down.

May I suggest looking at new ones......

Some on here have reported getting great finaly prices after rebates near the dealers orginal asking price of 27k.......

but yes since the prices are cut so much and rebates on all new vehicles it has killed the used car market and you should be able to find deals.....

Also compare toi ebay prices..etc etc...

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at new but I'm pretty cheap and I figure if I can get this Z66 for a good enought price it may be worth it (only has 10K).

I was going to start at $22K and work him hard the most I would go to would be $23.5K. But I think I should be able to work something within that range.

I've done a search but haven't been able to come up with any recent used purchases of z66's by members so I must apologize if this topic has been discussed before.

Don't forget that if you are financing, and can find a new 03, there is 0% financing for 60 months, and that can also decrease the price of the truck. I saved money over taking the rebate and our payment is less than it was on 28K Durango with a good rate!

I'd say that if you have good credit you should take the rebate, not the financing. I got 3.78% on my 60 month loan because I have good credit. It saved me a lot more taking the rebates than taking zero percent.

As far as the used z66 prices is it an 02 or 03? I got a 2003 z66 new for $27,000 (after rebates) and it has the full leather but not the DIC. I used my GM credit card to get the price down to $24,000 which I considered a pretty sweet deal. Everyone seems to be getting great deals on new so stick to your guns and you should get a great deal on a used. I'd shoot for 21-22k if it was an 03 and lower if it was an 02.
