Has anyone else had this problem?
When I first installed the DIRECTHITS it was awesome! ?Great power, no hesistation, signifcantly less emissions...
While I didn't buy this mod for improved mileage, I certainly didn't expect a decrease from a combined 16 mpg to 14 mpg. ?So, I called Lou and asked him why this might be, because I was staying out of the pedal I figured this was abnormal.
His response was "We are just finding this out, but with some of the newer vehicles, the computer is identifying the ?loud combustion expliosion as a knock and attempting to compensate by increasing the amount of fuel to the chamber".
In the mean time I had added the K&N filter. ?Since removing the DIRECTHITS (carbon build-up on the ring of the plug was significant after just 1,000 miles) my combined fuel economy has improved from 14 mpg to 18 mpg. ?
Now it is on to the HPIII or Diablo, but with the price difference, I am leaning toward the HPIII.
