Hi everyone! I'm new to this site and was wondering if anyone out there has had problems with their sunroofs malfunctioning? I have a 2002 Avy 2500 that is fully loaded. It came with a sunroof that is possessed! Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and other times it won't close!!! There is no rhyme or reason to when it works and when it doesn't! I would really appreciate any help in this matter :help:

Thanks

Hawk from Wisconsin

I'm shooting in the wind of course, but may want to check to make sure there is no garbage on the track or if the track is bent.  ???

Just taking a stab at this also but sounds like there might be a bad electrical connection maybe in the switch?

Have you recently replaced your battery, or had it disconnected?
You may need to reprogram the sunroof. ???

I'll try to find the info in the owner's manual.

If it's electrical, here's a schematic if that will help..

The image expands; how, depends on your browser.

Page 2-94 in owner's manual:

"If the battery has been recharged, disconnected or is
not working, you may need to reprogram the sunroof.
To do this, start the vehicle and press the forward side of
the sunroof button until the glass panel moves to a fully
closed position. Release, and press again to move to the
vent position which occurs when the sunroof is fully
tilted rearward. This will reset the memory and enable
the sunroof to function properly."

:welcome: Hope you get it worked out. Never had any problems with mine.

Many thanks for all the info and especially for the schematic. I did replace the battery before winter set in but I did have some problems before then. But who knows if the guy I got it from did some work and disconnected the battery for some reason. I will definitly give that a try once it stops raining! Many thanks again! This is a great site!
