I live in Utah and 4x4's are a commodity here. So I went to Las Vegas looking for just a 2 wheel drive Av. I did'nt find the color I wanted or the options, but I did find a 2 wheel drive for 32,000. Well I heard of this place in Kellog Idaho called Dave Smith motors. I got the exact Av I wanted in 4 wheel drive instead. Sunset orange Metallic, Z-71...basically everything except Leather and On-star. 6 way power seats, cd, 3.73 gears tow package for 30,700 with 000 miles!!! I haven't even seen it yet. I am picking it up Friday August 30th. Sorry if this is boring...I am just real ecited I found such a great deal....the same one here goes for 38,xxx. Well I will be back for performance tips... (y)

Welcome Snowflood ;)

I did the same thing (over phone and email, sight unseen) almost 14 months ago now. I found my Avy about 600 miles away. I did not get that good of a deal way back then, but they were just showing up in Texas.

Not boring at all and you should be excited ;D... hope it is exactly what you want! Be careful on the way home.

Congrats and Welcome!

I know the feeling, did the same thing a few months back!

Enjoy and remember, start modding now!
;D

Welcome to the club...Kinda gutsy move.....I hope you test drove it

Congrats Snowflood and welcome. I pretty much bought mine sight unseen too. And yes, I test drove it before signing the final paperwork. Had a great salesman too! (y) . . . . very Av knowledgable! :)

I also bought mine sight unseen. I had test driven several AVs, and knew exactly what I wanted, but no dealership in the area had what I wanted on the lot. A.J. finally hooked me up with the owner of Metro Chevrolet, which is about 2 miles from my house. The owner shipped in the exact truck I wanted, and cut me a deal on it that I couldn't refuse. I have been happily driving my truck ever since.

Didn't test drive mine either. Did test drive other Avs and then walked in the Inet Sales office with a list of what options I wanted and shook hands. Two days later my Red Z-71 was waiting for me with 36 miles on it.

Our story is similar - Thanks to this site ;D

Since we knew exactly what we wanted, ordering it over the phone took a lot of the stress out and made the deal a hundred time faster.

Welcome to the club.

Welcome to the club, I couldn't be happier I joined!

I hope your Av has at least a few miles on it. The dealer is required to road test it. I had a friend who bought a truck with 000000 on the odometer, he later found out it was rolled back

Best Wishes
:-*

WOW!!! I have been apart of forums before and they are so boring, but everyone here seems so excited. This is great. I was not expecting any replies yet. Thanks to all who replied. The dealer is driving it in and the truck should have about 250 miles on it by the time I pick it up. That is also when the warranty starts on it. So it should last until 36,250. I drove about 4 different Av's before I decided on the Z-71. I will definately be modifying it with my high paying Air Force checks ;)...lol. Well I hope to be talking to more of yas soon.

Welcome to the neighborgood Snowflood . . .

Similar story here - finding the perfect Av on a GMBuypower internet search. Had the deal all wrapped up before I ever saw my truck. I had however driven several Av's before purchasing. Mine had 5 miles on it when I took delivery.

Same here i test drove a few then told the the dealer all the options i wanted and they couldnt find one but then they found 2 1 was 125 miles away and the other around 175 and they called one dealer that had what i wanted but they were closed :6: so there was one left to call and if they were open and did have it we have to quick about it so i got a 2001 dollar rebate so he called him and they had it and they needed a red Trailblazer with leater and my local dealer had 2 :D do they did a dealer trade and i got exacly what i wanted a indigo blue Z-71 (and all the opitions look below) i was happy cause i got the 2001 dollar rebate right in time and then my sales person had to buy his secratary lunch because she found tthe exact one i wanted so he was happy that I was happy

Welcome Snowflood..... We're all pretty excited about our new vehicles.. We love our AVs... I typically drive hundreds of miles to buy my vehicles....This is the first time I've bought at home. I got satisfactory deal with the options I had to have. I know you'll enjoy your new toy...

As a former Air Force trooper myself, may I say welcome aboard. Congrats on your AVY...

Welcome to the owner's club dude! Sounds like you are buying yourself a pretty sweet ride!

I searched the internet to find the exact color and options I wanted. I found them about 200 miles away. I was given a great price over the net. I called the dealer for more specific information, got a further price break and made arrangements to be picked up at the train station on the following day. After a bit of paperwork I was on my way home with my North Face Edition. It was a very pleasant way to buy a new vehicle.

Congrats Snow. Similar situation here also. The Av I wanted was 200 miles away in Penn. I wanted the Sunset Orange and had not even seen that color except in pictures!
SOM Rules. Love my choice. Dealer up here made a trade and drove my Av home, and gave it an oilchange. I purchased it with 421 miles on it.

;D Well back again to report on my new AV. Picked it up Friday August 30th with 589 miles on it. Paid 30,700 and even got onStar, sunroof, side steps, AV brush gaurd, roof racks but no leather. I now have 1450 miles on it. The drive from the dealer was 630 miles away. I could not be any happier. I am going to be sending the dealer a hospital bill for the removal of my smile...Perma Grin all the way home (y) . Well Hopefully I can figure out this profile thing a little more and put the specs down and get a picture loaded.

Snowflood,

Congrats on the new Av and welcome to the club.

I know the feeling about the perma grin, I still have it and I've had mine 2 months now.

-Mark

My wife drives the Av to work and has it all day because my other vehicles are a 99 Cougar and a 2001 Silverado standard cab, so no fitting the kids in their...she gets home and I have ten thousand reasons to go to the store just to drive it... :B: I think I am obsessed with it...It is so much fun to drive....I have always owned 2 door cars...Lexus SC300 w/ 5 speed was the most recent race invention of mine...Never thought a 4 wheel drive 5800 lb truck could be fun ;D

I just had to add my ten cents, (my two cents is free)..

saw some posts that mentioned ordering/buying an AVA sight-unseen, but at least with a test drive of other AVA's.

I'm on a work assignment just now in Europe, and been here for 2 years. Have not even touched, felt, or seen any AVA.....ever. Not even the tv commercials. Just have pictures, all the info on the internet, and this forum to go by.

....placed an order anyway on 22 August, and will take delivery in October when I have returned from my assignment.

Nuts, eh? Well have been very lucky so far. Look forward to meeting some of you in the future.

A gutsy move. A safe one, I'm sure, but still gutsy.

There are a couple people in the same boat as you, including Skidd, who is in the process of getting one imported to Australia.

I'm sure you'll all be pleased when you finally do get your hands on your new truck! (y)
