does anybody out there know the right part number for the pvc valve thats should be in my 02 AV? I have been to my dealer 3 times and have done 2 oil test. They say theres nothing wrong with my truck and that they have not heard of any smoking problems. My AV smokes like a freight train on start-up but I can't get my dealer to believe me. Any help would be nice.

It is actually called a PCV Valve not to be confused with PVC which is a type of plastic material. The Part # for the new small orifice PCV Valve is : (PCV Type CV2001-C)

This fix has had mixed results with oil consumption problems on the AV. I would check the hose which is connected to the PCV Valve on your Av for traces of oil. If oil is present in the hose then try replacing the PCV Valve with the new style. If your hose does not have excessive oil present then your Av might have the Valve Seat problem http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?board=15;action=display;threadid=4858;start=28

Do a search using the word smoking. Set the days to be 45 or 60 not 7. Find the thread called 'Pictures of my smoking AV'. You will find ample information there. BTW I have the same issue, not smoking much but going through oil but only with extended highway driving
