Ram Air Mod?

I heard this referred to in another topic and I was wondering what it is. I did a search and came up empty. If anyone could please let me know what it is and i it really has any benifits or drawbacks I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Some of us have routed colder air up from the area of our towhooks into either the factory airbox OR a Violant air box. Benifit is cooler air. Drawback.. easier for stuff to get to the airbox. Really need to keep the filter clean and an eye on the box for large particles..leaves/tigs/ect.

I did it to my Silverado, seemed to help. I tried to post some pics I have but the files a bigger than the 100KB allowed. If you want to see them e-meil me and I'll send you some.
