REAL 2007 Avalanche spy pics

Looks like the "Clinic pics" posted over a year ago were spot on! Can't tell about the amber tail lights on the GMT900 spy pics, but other than that if you want to see the new AV, just look at that thread!  :B:

These don't show that silly-looking emblem on the tailgate. Let's hope it's for real.

That truck is sporting some serious wood ;D

Does anyone else notice what looks to be rear parking sensors on the bumper?

Also notice the very rounded dashboard too.

Nice work Beach!

Ed

Take this as a sign that cladding is officially done for. :(

If Bob Lutz and others didn't like it on the current truck, there's NO way it would ever make it to the next-gen, but we've known that for a while.

I know those wheels are just base 16" steel ones to be beat up during testing, but I really hope the production version gets MUCH larger ones to fill out the enormous wheel wells.  18's standard and 20's optional is what I've been told. ;)

The wheels int he pic...look like 8 lug wheels...so it would be a 2500....??

Nope.  Those are the steel wheels that come standard on Silverado 1500's--they were new this year, usually seen on Work Truck or LS versions.  Same 6-lug as on every 1500, and also the same wheel that's seen on the 2007 Suburban in the latest spy pics.

The wheels on the spy Avy are the same as on the Burban. that was the statement

I see it now.....I used a few different pics to count the lugs...

Sorry for any confusion....

I don't see parking sensors, I see hooks & straps for the bra-like coverings ;)

Humm Rounded finders must meaning WBH   I really hope they don't do away with cladding.  I can't wait to see how they changed the front end.  I guess I will hold out for a 2007 AV Eather way I will want the new AV.  I love these trucks personaly I like the current body of the AV.  Just my 2 cents

I would hope that they would check the sales numbers before doing away with the cladding, and not just rely on Lutz's judgement.  If cladding is not selling, then fine, do away with it, but if it is selling, and they ax it, it's just one more nail in GM's coffin.

Expect to see the first GMT-900 at the Texas State Fair, September 30 - October 23, 2005.  The General wants them ON THE LOT by January, so Detroit is too late for that.  As is, they should be ready enough to debut at a show by October, go into actual production a little bit later, and be on the lot, ready for sale in the first few days of the new year.

2 words.... Digital Camera !

Those pics look like the same quality as the infamous "bigfoot" video

The article states they were very far away with a super high powered zoom on

I think cladding might be a tough sell on the new one.  You practically have to special order one with cladding around here.

Very true, as the WBH's seem to have taken over anymore.  Plus, it would just be one more version they'd have to spend money on producing, whether or not a small segment of buyers wants the extra protection and cool look, or not.

I REALLY don't think cladding will be coming back on the new truck, so buy while you still can ;)

Thats exactly what I had to do to get one with the cladding.

I too tought it looked like parking sensors. But after your comment, it appears that the same "straps" that are over the back bumper, also appear on the sides of the rear cover. Thus, I would have to agree with you on that one.

Did anyone else notice the chrome tailgate handle from the current 'Lade?

Bastards,
Looks like I'll be keeping my 02 for a loooong time.
Buy some stock in Rhino-lining now.

Yep I may end up, upgrading to a 2006 (because I don't know how much farther my 02 will go with 120K) and get a 2006 cladding loaded... THen keep it forever..lol....last year 25.7% of Avalanche's sold had cladding 25% is still 1/4 of AV sold.  It is funny you will see cladding in different area CA, OR, WA all you see is WBH but you go NJ and even parts of TX you see alot more cladding (y)
