Rear End Squeak

My '02 Z71 AV has an anoying squeek in the rear end when I go over something like a speed bump. Seems to only be there when there is some load in the bed (doesn't take much) and is worse when the fuel tank is full.

I have taken it to the dealer twice. They tell me it is the slip feature in the drive shaft and have lubricated it. The noise goes away for a week or so, then returns. :6:

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any comments or better solutions?

I have the same thing. It never really bothers me though. My 99 tahoe did it, and my brother in law's burban does it too.

I had a squeak that semed to be coming from the rear, but was very difficult to locate. To make matters worse, I couldn't duplicate it when the truck was stopped. The search finally ended on this one when I took the spare tire out to check the air in it. I noticed it didn't seem to be very tight when I started lowering it. Of course when I reinstalled the spare, I cranked the winch up tight. That squeak has never returned, but was soon replaced by a scrunching noise in the front end that drives me nuts. I haven't figured that one out yet.

I have the same squeak. It usually happens when the truck has been sitting for a couple of hours. After driving for a bit it goes away, I dismissed it as just an annoyance.

turn up the radio ;D ;D

I have not heard this noise

 YGMN? Do you ever turn DOWN the RADIO to hear any noises:?? ?>:D
;)
Probably wouldn't make any difference at this point, the hearing damage is already done. >:D

No wonder he never seems to hear any noises.

And now for a movie quote: "You couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin factory!" National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
