Working on a 2004 5.3. Code 2315. Replaced the sensor on foot pedal. Replaced throttle body and tps sensor. Replaced the plug that goes to the tps. Soldered the wires.
Checked and cleaned all grounds. There’s is 5volts at both wires at the tps and both grounds check good too. Maf sensor probed ok.
Here’s where it gets wierd. Testing the terminals coming out of tps sensor there is no ohms. This is second brand new throttle body and sensor. Neither have ohms. If I probe the old sensor I get ohms. The reduced engine power was intermittent. Now with two new throttle body with new sensors the problem is no longer intermittent. Here’s the link to the tests I performed. What am I missing? Thank you. https://easyautodiagnostics.com/gm/4.8L-5.3L-6.0L/throttle-body-resistance-specs-1

Am I correct in believing two tps sensors are bad since I can’t get any ohms like the link tells to check for? Thank you. This is my sisters truck. She’s been stranded for two weeks. Trying to help her.

It has thrown these codes too. When I erase and rescan only the p2135 comes up. I’d be stoked if someone helps me find the answer. Ground from block to left side of engine is good. Unbolted. Cleaned. Rebolted. Tested. All the grounds people say to check are checked. New battery too.

There are factory service bulletins for the P1516 code but I'm not sure if it's for '04

Looks like everything is pointing to the Throttle Position Sensor and maybe because you have no ohms, then you have an electrical connection issue. I'd check the pins and all the connection points and see if they are corroded. I would also look at everything going to the ECU

No one can verify the ohms test in the link?

I put two different brand new tps sensors with a new plug. The test for ohms is done with the plug off. I get no ohms as that link I posted says. I have a third one coming today. Thank you for reply.

It’s like no one read the link I posted. My question was is that the correct way to diagnose a bad 8 pin tps. It has diagrams of the pins and tells what the ohms should be. No one has answered. I’ll know in a bit.

UPDATE!!! FIXED!!!
It was the tps. The first two were bought brand new from two diff company’s. Neither had ohms at the correct pins. Third tps came today and the first thing I did was put my meter on it and It had ohms. Installed it. Reduced engine power is gone. 8 codes are gone. Zero codes.
Just because it’s a new part doesn’t mean it’s not the problem. Even if it’s the second new part. Check new parts for ohms. Thank you guys. Talk to you later. Doug.

Glad to see you got your issue resolved.

Did you buy OEM parts or aftermarket?
