Anyone ever had a prob with their keyless entry remote not working? It was working fine for that last week. Then this morning when I went to use it, it didn't work. Thought it might be the battery so we got a new one and still nothing. Luckily I had the reprogramming directions and after that its working right now. Is there something where after the battery goes dead you always have to reprogram or it or is this just a weird fluke? (hopefully only a fluke.)

Had the exact same thing happen to me once. Hasn't happened since. Never could figure it out.....and the service writer at the dealer just looked at me with a blank stare when I inquired about it....so I figured it was just a weird fluke...

I do recall reading somewhere, just can't remember whether the information was in the manual or some web portal, that when a battery is replaced the "fob" needs to be reprogrammed.

I thought I was crazy when this happened to me the other day. Unlocked the AV with the remote as I and some friends walked up to it. Didn't see the lights flash and when we got there the doors were still locked. Tried again. Nothing. Unlocked it manually and drove off. Next time I tried the remote it worked fine. That was about a week ago. No problems since.

I checked the "manual", and it does indicate that when replacing the battery, resynchronization is required. Section 2, Battery Replacement.

FWIW... I think the remotes "get numb" after getting blasted with static electricity :3:. I had to reprogram one of mine this week after several nasty shocks. :0:

I even took mine to the dealer once when it was not working never even got out of the truck, service manager took the keys held both buttons down for 30 seconds and it worked great. if I have any problems since I just do the same thing and no problems.

Hi I'm new and joined due to the fact that I have 2 remotes and they died. I followed the instruction on this forum to reprogram the transmitters and nothing. When I hold down the unlock button on the door and cycle the key switch, it activates program mode then after about 3secs it locks and unlocks and the horn sounds.....then nothing. Any other solutions.....or do I have to repeat the program sequence again....I tried it like 5 times and all the same issue. Any other help would be nice :help: :E:

Hello and  :welcome:

Lets start with the easy stuff. What year is your AV? Have you replaced the batteries. I just want to make sure that we can verify and get you the right info.

bump

Has anyone noticed that their 10-minute delay is gone when the remote stops working.  GandyQ is having problems with his 02.  The key fobs have stopped working and he noticed the radio won't play after you shut off the key until you open the door anymore either.  Are these things connected somehow?

bump...

Been looking and searching around. Seems like noone has figured this out yet huh?

I've got the same issue. I bought my truck on Tuesday 8pm and yesterday @ 11am my remote(s) stopped working...

that's why we keep the threads around, so new folks can get info ya old timers have already experienced  just a thought

Sometimes if you drop them on the ground it can cause the remote to fail and you have to reprogram.

Thats almost as bad as having to get out of my chair to switch the channel on the tv.

Key Fob won't work when there is no power to the interior of the vehicle.  When a door is open to the vehicle the key fob works fine, and the key fob work fines immediately after I exit the vehicle.  In order for me to use the key fob, I now have to open the driver door using the key, once the driver side door is open the key fob works fine.  Does anyone have any suggestions.
