I wanted to remove the saddle bag lids to clean some crap out from underneath.? I took out the 4 hex screws and saw that there are some pop rivets in there as well.? I didn't want to break it, but I don't see how to take them off.? I looked in the threads and there wasn't much in there.
Any one know how to take them off to clean?

2003 wbh!!!

thanks

as far as I know you cannot remove just the lids, you would have to remove the whole long assembly the lids are attached to.

Im trying to remove the lid and hinges from the truck.  I have 4 bolts, two on each side.  but then there are two black pop rivets that are in there as well

Looks like you need a drill and some rivots. Just curious why do you want to remove,I can't see anything that would be servicable under there

not serviceable, just anal and they have some moss growing under there that I want to wipe off.  you can see the green stuff under there.  that is what I'm trying to get at.

I used a little screw driver and a wet towel and wiped as much as I could get.  I know that there is more, so maybe someone knows.  I think they come off, I just don't want to break it.

Here is a picture of the backside of them, they can be removed, but you need to get to the back to remove the metal washer/clip.

And the magical question, how do you get to the back side?

To put it simply, you have to remove the grab handle, remove the drain grille, take out all the hex head bolts you can find, 6 of them (you have four already) remove the bolt on the inside of the cargo pocket,  remove the inner sail panel and remove the hidden screw way back at the window, move some weather stripping out of the way then you have to remove that whole assembly, flip it over and you will see the back of the "rivets".  At least that is how I did it, takes me about 30 minutes now to remove it if I wanted to.  I have had it off at least 4 times.

Holy Sh**, I will clean it with some water and my screw driver.  Thanks for the detailed outline, I'm anal, but not that much :D

I think you might be able to remove the lid from the hinges easier than you can remove the hinge from the truck...
