Replaced Factory Stereo With Pioneer And XM!

S

Just got my stereo in the AV replaced yesterday. ?It is a Pioneer 8400 with XM radio. ?JL audio amp and speakers. ?What a difference. ?The XM works great. ?I use it under trees, bridges, and even in the garage. I wonder how they pull off that feat?? ;D

The XM antenna is mounted on the roof top in the rear by the third brake LIGHT!

Hands down - without a doubt XM Radio is the only way to go.. ?The Onstar still works thanks to OS1 interface. Remember, you need a separate speaker for onstar if you put in an amp!

:B:

My mods are almost complete

Congrats and Welcome to the special club of aftermarket audio/video!
;D

Do anything for a sub or still waiting like the rest of us? ???

How do you like the 8400?

I put mine in about 2 weeks ago, and love it.
It makes using external crossovers useless. I just can't beleive all the staging, level, & frequency adjustments that can be customized. ;D

Quite an unbelievable unit ;D

I said that once ... It last about 3 days >:D

Another convert.

I've said it before; give XM one hour and you'll be hooked.

All this talk of XM has me sold. I have been looking at the 8400 myself. I just wonder if I am going to be able to this one by myself or do I need to farm this one out. I am pretty handy most of the time. I did the install in my 94 Z71 with no problems. Should be the same?

You shouldn't have any problems doing the install of the 8400. I just installed a whole system in the Av, and wiring up the HU is a pretty basic job. Don't forget to get the GM antenna adapter along with your wiring harness.

I bought the XM last night and am gonna have it installed this Friday. XM is picking up the bill on installation.
I don`t have the 8400 just yet but found a heck of a deal at $364 -5% at www.sounddomain.com . I am now getting ready to order the 8400.
While I was there I checked out the Sony Grand Wega TV. Pretty nice. The wife was ready to take it home right then. That was too easy. Kinda scared me.

That's the same deal I got from SD 3 weeks ago. (y) ?
It's a hell of a deal. ?I love the deck, it has soo many functions. ;D

And much better than my Pioneer P77 ;D ;D (inside joke)

I need the opinion of some of you here:

I have been looking at decks for a while now. I have ruled out the all silver decks, thinking they would not look good in the gray interior of my Av.

Problem is that a lot of the decks that have the features I want (and this Pioneer is near the top of that list) are all silver. For those of you who have these decks installed in your Av, do you think that the silver looks out of place. or does it compliment the interior?

Here's mine. I personally think it blends nicely:

Pioneer P77

im looking at 449 here on osund domain..u sure it was 367?????

I'm assuming you're talking about the 8400??

SD beats any advertised price by 5%, that's how we got our deals. Normally Etronics has the lowest price. But search around on any of the "price finder" engines and see who has the best price now. Then submit the site to SD and they will issue you a coupon code.

The 8400 is the only way to go. Just ask Shaquille O'Neal. He's got one in his AV.

Anyway. An excellent compliment to that head unit is an JL Audio Amp with the JL Audio Speakers (MB Quart design).

It Rocks...

That 8400 looks like a darn nice unit. ?I think I have to talk to the spouse about upgrading. ?It would me nice to have the MP3 capability. ?I read the reviews on it and everyone seems to like it. ?I will for sure have to check this out a my local shop. ?Thanks for the info.
