rust under door weatherstrip

Have not seen this for some time but has anyone with an 03 or 04 checked under door wea/strip for rust spots from what is called shipping dust (metal dust) from shipment on rail cars
I had this on my 02 Av and was covered under warrenty

Actually the rust under the weatherstrip was due to poor installation techniques of the roofrack...as when the delaers driller the holes the metal shavings slid underneath seal and rusted when they got wet.....

Raildust would be all over the paint but primarily on the flat horizontal surfaces.....you can feel them with your hand in a baggy as it will intensify your sense of feeling...

I think not as the factory started to install the factory roof racks during the end of the 2002 model year since dealerships messed them up so much....

But it would be worth checking and when ya look clean it out and put some 303 or like on the seals to make em last a long time

I have an 03' (Born July 03"), no rust, but keeping an eye just in case. I zaino'd under the gasket on the roof line right away as insurance from what I had read about 02's with roofrack. But, I think as YGMM pointed out that GM has resolved the issue.

I have the rust on my 02. I don't have the roof rack but I do have a sunroof.

I need to take mine in for the faded panels, PCV valve and now the rust.

Hope they give me a rental.
