Shock Boots

I finally received my front shocks (KYB Monotubes).  Now I have 4 KYB Monotubes, F@rd torsion keys, and rear coil spring spacers (1-1/2").

Ok to my question.  I don't want to leave the black boots on the shocks because I don't think they will be that noticable.  Will rancho shock boots fit on my KYB shocks?  Hopefully not a dumb question?

:help:

Thanks, Fowlhunter.

P.S.  Check out the thread on Bratfest, Region III (Missouri)

no they won't , the top on kybs is too big for rancho boots, besides the kyb is a better boot,it has more venting to let dirt drain out, shock manufactures love shock boots cause they trap dirt against the seals and destroy the shock.

so is it better to install shock boots or leave the shocks bootless?? because i have a set of new shocks shipped on their way here, and here in Kuwait weather tends to get "sandy" during the summer, so am i better off leaving the boots off?

the boot's only benefit is to protect the shaft from rocks etc. the nick in the shaft would cut the seal when the shaft compresses, but sand would destroy the seal even faster, take a look at score trucks, they don't run shock boots
