side storage doors on bed not lokcking

:E: I noticed last night on my 2 month old 2004 Avalanche ,that the passenger side storage door was open while I was driving. I keep these doors locked at all times because of teh items in them, also the drivers side when locked if you push the lock with your finger with little pressre it will open. Anybody have this happen to them ???, if so what was done???
 
I had the same problem with my 02 AV. I brought it in to the dealers and they replaced the locks. You might want to try pushing down the storage door while locking it.
 
Had this problem with mine. I think I tightened the locks, lubricate them, and move little thingy with your finger. Sometimes it was not reseting to the open position when I closed. They work fine now.
 
Have an 04 with same problem. Often have to manually reset the lock to open then lock it. It's getting old though, a trip to the dealer is soon in order.
 
Well my first problem with my 2004 Av was these locks. I was at the dealer today and they had to order two locks for my side storage doors. I thought it just needed adjustment to lock since key would turn but the doors wouldn't secure. Service writer said the have had a few failures and they just replace assembly. Will get my new ones installed Tuesday. No Problem with dealer.
 
IMHO...sometimes Dealer Techs are parts replacers instead of fixers...so far I have fixed my locks tendency
to not latch with graphite lube...
 
My 04 did the same thing when I brought the AV home. It fixed itself after I slammed it shut and has not had a problem ever since. I think it was not lubed up and not locking completely. Been 3 months now and still works and locks.
