I MADE A SIMPLE BUT STURDY FLAG POLE HOLDER FOR THE AVALANCHE.

I used a 1/4 inch steel plate cut to 4" by 5 1/4, a four inch piece of square channel and three socket head M6-1 1/2X20 bolts.

Remove the three torx bolts from the trim at the left rear corner of the bed and set the trim aside.

Drill the three hole pattern in the steel plate.

Cut one end of the square channel at a 45 degree angle and weld it to the steel plate. (stay centered and to the inside of the plate to clear the storage lid).

Paint and bolt to the bed with the three socket head bolts. note: you may want to tap in two small screws for tension on the pole in the channel.

Just add the flag and join in the parade!!!

The GTG is this weekend at Hocking Hills State Park near Columbus, OH. I will take some pictures of the flag flying then and post them. The holder is so simple it hardly rates a photo, but the GTG and the parade is another story. Stay tuned!!!

I did this a few weeks back. ?Here are my posts about it. ?You really also need to buy a heavy duty quadruple stitched flag to hold up to flying behind the AV at any speed. ?My first flag disentegrated.

That's pretty cool looking! I bet it looks great when you are driving!! ?:B:

Its awesome when driving. My hardest thing is to not leave it on all the time. Everyone thinks its a bit much. I only break it out and fly it every now and again. I have two of them made, but only one flag. I want to get a CAFCNA flag made to fly during cruises on the other side.

:2:Great - another idea for a mod.

I need to seek help, the more I am this page the more the wheels turn. I do not know if I can keep up with the list I am making. Sooo many great ideas, so little time and $$$.

I iwll have to give this site up for a couple of days jsut to prioritize my list and start knocking a few out.

Oh yeah - great idea on placement for the mount.

See ya!

We need to get some american flags on our Avalanche's to support our country while we are at war against Iraq. I don't know what every one else thinks. Need to show our support in every way we can, even if we disagree with it. Like the old saying, "United we stand, Divided we fall."

If I had one I would fly it, but I don't. I don't see me getting one for a week now cause of all the snow we got here in Colorado. I'll get one as soon as I can.
