Many of us purchased the Avalanche because we feel safer with a big vehicle. ? It is hard to explain that sometimes, so a picture is worth a thousand words. ?We just got rear ended waiting at a stop light. ?Fortunately nobody was hurt. ?Here is what the other car looked like after the accident.

Here is what it happened to the Avalanche

Most cars can barely make a dent against a 6,000 -7,000 lb truck.

Glad to hear no one was hurt. Do you have any other damaged pics of the AV? I can't get the whole perspective of what kind of damage you sustained.

The nick in the plastic and slight elevation of the step was the ONLY damage. ?When I saw what happened to the other vehicle I could not believe the Avalanche was only "scratched". ?See for yourself...

Thanks for the additional pic. Any idea on what it's going to cost you to replace the rear cladding? Maybe you won't, it is a truck by the way.

The other party's insurance should pay for it. I have heard $500 for a replacement bumper.

I agree, get a new one in the box and keep it. Who knows when you'll want to replace it.

Ouch!! ?Glad that your damage was minimal... maybe the other guy will want an av too, now that they have been "subjected" to one. ?;)

HQ - GLAD ALL IS WELL!!

Have your AV checked for rear wheel alignment anyway.

Have someone follow you and determine wether your back end is drifting to the left or the right.

Just my 2 cents!

Peace

AV "1"---Accord "0"

A lady in a brand new Accord rolled into me today while I was waiting at a traffic light. Luckily, she was perfectly aligned with my rear bumper/hitch receiver. Tore the heck out of her bumper cover and grill assembly. Not a scratch to my AV. She's dam lucky I didn't have the ball assembly hitch in place as it would have wiped out her radiator.
