Slow Leak In Tire.

I have a slow leak in one of my tires. There is no nail or anything present, that could be found with a simple inspection.

It will leak out about 8-10s in a span of a week and a half to like two weeks.

I do not believe this leak would be detectable by the old soapy water trick.

How would you go about detecting or repairing this? Something like Slime, or maybe some fix a flat liquid minus the flamable propellant?

Thanks!!

What tire is it in? I've had a similar problem with my driver side rear tire ever since I bought my AV. ??? ???

Check the valve stem / core first - they are often responsible for slow leaks. Be sure the core is tight. Or simply replace the core (after putting a block under the axle and deflating the tire) to see if it's responsible.

Super small leaks are a pain - and I've 'just lived with it' on several occasions (not on the Av yet!). Dirt on the rim, imperfections in the tire bead, or puncture from such as a small wire staple still embeded somewhere in the tire can be very hard to track down.

Good luck.

This can be tricky. Even though it is a slow leak, the soapy water test is worth a try. When doing this, be sure to test all tire surfaces, the bead where the tire joins the rim, the valve, and the entire rim surface. Make sure to wait a while to see if a bubble forms.

Cast aluminum alloy wheels look great, but they can be somewhat porous, and can leak air right through the metal of the wheel. If that's the case, it may be possible to apply a sealant to the inside of the wheel, but that can cause balance problems. Obvously, you have a new enough truck, so that you may be able to make a warranty claim if it does turn out to be the wheel.

It's hard to give firm advice without seeing the tire.

I would go to a good tire guy and let them look at it....Take it off put it in a large tub of water and look for bubbles.....

find a good one not some crappy one...

Thanks a lot guys. :)

I have some good things to try here.

EDIT: Also, this is the passenger front tire... FWIW
