Don't worry it is not me I love my AV but today at the dealership some AV owners are going to trade it in on a Suburban they don't like the ride of the AV and they don't like the seats in it they don't like how the mid-gate works  after that I had hear plunty but they are buying a new suburban. There AV is a 2002 1500 4WD
it does not have the Z71 or bucket seat it is basic thats just the bad news I came across today

What would be so significantly different about the ride or seats of a 'burb? ???

I bet this guy has the mechanic put the snow tires on the back of the Impala 'cuz that's where ya always mount snow tires - everybody knows that :2:

You read my mind! :2:

That's too bad but yeah, at least they're trading it in on a Chevy.

But geez why people would pay at least $7k more to buy an Av with the roof over the back end (that's basically the way I view the Suburban), you would think that they should stay with the Av. Besides, the Av even rides better and it's a truck! Finally, I think there is probably more enjoyment in driving an Av because of its looks and functionality than a Sub.

I agree, not having buckets is no punishment. And you could always add a skid plate.

The mid-gate was likely too confusing, but another reason was required ;)

I have one of each sitting in my garage... both 02's and i must say I enjoy both...they ride similar...just depending on where were going as a family on which one we take..but my wife's is fully loaded.... ..and mines becoming fully modded................

I too, would expect them to ride identically (assuming both same C/K, 1500/2500, etc.). To each their own, I suppose.

I think that the reasons that they told were not the real reasons for the trade in. More than likely it was "so and so down the street got an excursion. Why can't we get a suburban." or one of them just didn't like the cladding. Anyway, the reasons they gave sound more like excuses thought up and not true reasons from experience. They just want to justify their desire to trade.

I know what you guys all mean I remember when the 1st bought the AV it was the 2nd one in town (I was 1st (y) and they drove it and liked it then they traded in a 2000 Suburban with a bench seat now I am wondering if the suburban's seat is the same and the ride is the same why don't they like it but like every one has said that must just be a cover up they don't want to give the real reason soo as it is traded in I am going to drive it to see how the smooth ride is and how the bench seat feels

The seat issue brings up a question. Like the guy who traded in his AV, I don't like the seats either. I love my AV, but the driver's seat is so uncomfortable. I never sat in the passenger's seat yet. The side padding (where your shoulders touch) feels like a big uneven bump in the seat, especially on the right (console) side. By appearance the seat looks fine. Just uncomfortable.

I have cloth interior and it's a 2003. Anyone else not like the seats?

To a degree, the seat issue is really subjective, since everyone has a different body, etc. I have similar issues with my seats (fully adjustable, leather) . . . in fact causing severe back pain after riding a while. Other people have sat in my Av and agree they are uncomfortable (driver AND passenger seats), and for some, painful after a while. My dealer agrees with me, so much so, he is willing to have the seats reworked at a custom shop. That's what I call service!
