hello all,

i noticed that truckperformance.com is offering a new speed grille for the avalanche. does anyone already have this on their avalanche? if so, please post a picture.

i was already set on the billet grille as my first mod, but decided i wanted to try something different. :0:

thanks.

arent they?! ? ?well a friend of mine has a chrome set on his '02 xtreme, black, and they certainly do complement his ride. ?i was thinking probably brushed, but your idea of body matching isn't bad at all.

hmm, now what to do?

I had the chrome street scene grille on my GMC for about 9 mo. Took it off when I sold the truck to get the Avy. Noticed rust spots along some of the edges. DON'T like rust. :6:

me i'm thinking... paint the cross bar red to match the truck, :0: paint the speed grille black... add a usa flag bow tie and oh yeah lookin good. oh wait my bad that would be my truck! ~dinner is served :D

What is the price for one of those, I really like the look of it, it is more natural than the billet.

Thanks, James R.

i payed $180 for it but i must warn u the lower grill blocks the lactch to open the hood ...and it does come with a mod kit with the grill but did not like it had to do my own mod to open hood now

kuffs, did you contact street scene, about this problem?
If so what did they say.

-James R.

they know about the problem and they try to mod it by giving u a new cable and lever to add to your lock on the hood but just seemed like to much work to go thew ..so i just taped up a old scewdriver and stick it the holes of the grill and just open it that way..if u want u can use the mod that they give u but i felt like it was more work than needed

Oops, minor problem, oh well they don't need to open the hood anyway. It's a Avalanche!!
I wonder how much the designer of this makes a year?

I'm sure this will make the next mechanic happy to work on your truck :7: Too bad - I thought these looked
pretty cool.

Is it my understanding they relocate the handle for opening the hood? What kind of quality is the handle and cable? Where do they have you relocate it?

Doesn't sound bad to me, besides, I was going to put mine on a solonoid anyways. >:D

i'm still waiting for a wiremesh grill, like a new jag, the 67 gto, new aston martin, or kenworth trucks, and the, bently.

basically, the original av grill, but in stainless mesh, not plastic,

one of these days.........av days...........,got changes grill

got change where did you buy that grill and how much?
-James R.

I have seen them at truckperformace for a while. I was looking at buying one but the holidays came and you know what happens then. No money . I would like to get on of these, but I want to know where they relocate the handle too.

The relocating cable is a simple hook up. I have the satin finish grill where as the chrome finish one. I will post a picture later. As the cable goes, It mounts to the secondary latch and the T-handle gets mounted anywhere you want it. You have about 4 feet to work with. Its acually pretty simple. I am very impressed with it. Looks Great!

Thanks for the help. I was a little worried about the look.

I wonder if there is a way to mount it so that it all works off the stock release on the inside of the cab.

AvalancheSS_21 -Where did you get them? I tried at truckperformance, but it doesn't say anything about speed grilles for the avalanche. Help ???

I called Summit auto racing to order my Street Scene grill insert and they told me all you can buy now is the top piece for the grill. They said they recalled all of the bottom pieces and no longer sell the two pack that has the top and bottom pieces. Did someone else get this story too.

Thanks,
Adam
