Speedometer- -04, goes to 120 MPH, My 02 went to 100?

Is this new to the 04, or maybe 03 (I appologose as I have never messed around in an 03...)
My Z-66 had a spedometer that only went to 100MPH and that was it.
My dash on the 2004 Z-71 had markings to 120?
Was that a change accross the board from 02 to 03, or 03 to 04?

Just curious.

I have an 03 Z-71 and it goes to 120. I assume all 03's would be the same and it wouldn't just be a Z-71 thing.

I know that I was always a liitle peeved about the 100 mph in my 02. I just never had the time, energy or nerve to swap out clusters even thought I have a certified place 10 miles from my home.
Just seemes that is one item (IMHO) that should stay stock.

Speedometer might say it goes up to 120 but its still governed at 98 like all the rest of the years. Your not gonna be able to raise it without a programmer like the hypertech.

The Speedometer has the capability up to 120, but the governor kinks in between 98-103 (according to my GPS), still experimenting once in while.

I asked when I bought my 03 the dealer said they shut down at 114 instead of 98. There faster, had mine up to 105 and it still had more.

Iv'e had my 03' Z-71 to 105 MPH, although I didn't stay there long, a little too fast for a stock truck.

My '03 Z71 speedo went to 100; the Escalade cluster showed 120 (and had the trans temp too

)
I'll keep the stock limiter though; the trans temp Ga & the look is all that mattered.

Hypertech does work

I have mine set for 128 but let off when I saw 115 because the big block was still pulling hard! >:D
