:help:
2003 Avalanche North Face edition.
I had all four tires replaced with a differant tread design then was on there and now I have a steering wheel shimmy at about 60 and then they replaced them and said i had 2 bad ones. Now it shakes the same as when they replaced them.
They rebalanced and put them on a load machine, still does the same thing.
I never had any problems before and with 2 of the them being original tires.
I have 90,000+ miles.
Am leaving for a 1500 mile trip Thursday and would appreciate any help.

Thanks

No i haven't checked them.
I don't think i can get into the dealer within 2 days.
Would it start causing me problems at the same time i changed tires?

I know it's a short window to vcheck all the things but never expected any problems

Thanks

Road force balancing is something to consider as well.

I have 100k on my ride and its lifted.
But just recently had wheel bearings replaced. jack up AV and see if front wheel wiggles.
also you are await if the steering shaft.
and next would be to chk the front drive shafts.

These are places to start looking!hope this helps

I had the road force balancing done, that's how they found the 2 bad ones.
I may have a loose rear u-joint.

Not young anymore, can't do the checking myself like I used to so have to rely on others. Will try to have all the things checked that have been suggested.

Again- Thanks to all for any suggestions.

Problem solved, a lucky guess on my part but had them put on tires that were the same as it came with. The North Face came with Goodyear Wrangler ats and just had it out at all speeds and it handles like it was new.
I should never have changed tread pattern.

Hope this may help someone before they go through the mess I have the past 5 days.

I'm glad it is fixed for you, although most of us have changed tires and wheels to many different brands. I , for example, have Nitto Terra Grappler, an agressive all terrian tire, and I have no shimmy.

I may have said it wrong, I had gone from the aggressive tread to an all season.
It could also have been the brand of tire I went to when i changed them.
Didn't mean to give the impression that it was the only make of tire to put on.
